Nathaniel listened to Cassie's increasingly outrageous demands with a frown.
"The Nicholls Group is a large-scale enterprise. Do you know what having 5% of its shares means?"
Cassie waved off his concern. "Of course. While 5% might sound much, I come from a pretty good family too. As the Reynolds family's heiress, I have many pursuers. Consider yourself lucky to marry me with just this little wedding gift," she remarked casually.
Nathaniel's gaze was aloof, his disdain evident on his face.
He was baffled at Cassie's audacity, and their blind date had ruined his entire day.
What a failed effort.
Nathaniel refused to engage with Cassie further, and he picked up a few appetizers from the table and nibbled on them.
After waiting for what felt like an eternity without any sign of giving in from Nathaniel, Cassie could no longer hide her true colors.
As the heiress of the Reynolds family, she grew up spoiled and pampered, causing her to have quite a temper and be stubborn.
She impatiently questioned, "Why aren't you saying anything? Besides me, do you really think there's another woman out there who would be interested in a man with a criminal record like yours? Nathaniel, I'm willing to give you a chance and date you, even considering our future together. You should feel honored."
Cassie's tone grew snarkier as she spoke. It was as if she expected him to immediately kneel and apologize, showing gratitude toward her.
Meanwhile, the door to the VIP private room creaked open a crack.
A child peeked in, scanning the room.
Upon spotting Nathaniel, the little figure dashed into the room, calling out sweetly, "Daddy…'
Both Cassie and Nathaniel were taken aback.
Nathaniel turned his head to see Adora running toward him with her arms wide open.
"Daddy, hug!" Adora exclaimed as she reached him.
Adora continued, "Daddy, I remember there's a trending term for women like this… Delu… Delulu...?"
Nathaniel gently helped her, "Delusional."
"Oh, right! Delusional! Grandma, this term suits you perfectly!" Adora exclaimed.
Her eyes twinkled with a mischievous glint, looking really adorable.
Not only was Adora's lively and playful nature just like Sheena's when she was young, but her little face also resembled young Sheena's.
Nathaniel watched her defend him, secretly content.
Cassie was on the brink of losing her composure as she glared at Nathaniel.
"You have a child with your mistress, yet you claim to be unmarried and come on a blind date with me! Nathaniel, you've gone too far! You simply have no respect for our Reynolds family, taking me for a fool!"
