Maxwell heaved a sigh, “I’ve suggested him to prolong his life with three king-level ginsengs back then. In this way, he would be able to extend his life for ten more years. But it looks like he didn’t accept my advice…”
The old man shivered all over and stared at Maxwell as he figured out Maxwell’s identity from his words straight away!
“It’s you! You’re the mysterious man!” The old man’s pupils shrank with shock and disbelief in his eyes.
“My dad once told me that after giving him the suggestions, the mysterious man diagnosed that he only had a life span of five years left… It’s really unexpected to me that you’re actually the mysterious man he mentioned back then.” The old man said in a shaky voice.
His gaze towards Maxwell changed instantly as he had just learnt that the man who was standing in front of him had a terrifyingly outstanding achievement in medicine.
The old man’s father was entitled as the incarnation of Hua Tuo (a prestigious doctor in TCM in Chinese history) when he was alive and there were few people who could be a match for him in terms of medicine all over the country. At that time, the appearance of the mysterious man had led his father into a novel area and in the eyes of his father, only the word ‘unfathomable’ could be used to describe the mysterious man’s medicine achievements.
His father was quite inferior to that mysterious man in the aspect of medicine.
And it would be hard to find a match who had similar achievements in medicine for him all around the world.
He could be entitled as a ‘living Yama’ and ‘the king of medicine’!
Maxwell remained clam. He ignored the fluctuations of the old man’s emotions and asked, “Why did he refuse to use the three king-level ginsengs to prolong his life? I had gifted them to him. How did he use them?”
The old man heaved a long sigh and replied with a sorrowful look, “My father… He used all the three king-level ginsengs in the treatments of his patients. Those poor people could not afford the high medical cost, so my father exempted all the expenses…”
Maxwell’s expressions froze slightly. With a touch of sympathy flashing across his eyes, he sighed, “I’m sorry to hear that. Your father has carried out many charitable deeds. He had saved and cured numerous patients, which can be regarded as another kind of prolonging his life.”
“You… Can you tell one’s fortune through the facial features?” The old man regretted as soon as he blurted out the words.
Maxwell was quite excellent in medicine, so it must be a piece of cake for him to tell one’s fortune through facial features.
This was the reason why Maxwell was able to diagnose Lennon’s disease with a single glance and to help the old man improve the prescription thereafter.
The old man still wanted to have more talks with Maxwell, but a beautiful figure was approaching them accompanied with the clickety-clacking sounds of high heels from afar.
“Yo, Ms. Greta, how comes you’re here?” Maxwell was stunned slightly and then smiled awkwardly.
Greta threw a glance at Maxwell coldly and replied blandly, “I come to see whether if my husband is in danger.”
Maxwell chortled, “Ms. Greta, please rest assured. I was discussing about Lennon’s disease with the chairman just now…”
“What’s the point to discuss it? Isn’t Mr. Lennon’s illness almost healed?” Greta wrapped her arms around herself and gazed at Maxwell with a questioning look.
“Hahaha…” Maxwell laughed awkwardly. Seeing the frosty expressions on Greta’s face, he felt things had gone wrong as the virago was going to lose her temper.
Maybe it was because he had left her alone in the car for too long.
“Mister, let’s stop here. We have to go back first.” Maxwell waved at the chairman and then held up Greta’s hand and headed towards the car.
“Don’t touch me.” Greta tossed off Maxwell’s hand and wiped her hand on her clothes with a disdainful look.
“All right.” Knowing that the beautiful president was still angry, Maxwell could only smile obsequiously and apologetically and got on the car following Greta.
The moment Maxwell sat down on the driver’s seat and touched the real-lather steeling wheel that felt extremely good, Greta questioned him in a cold voice out of the blue, “You and that chairman, who was the one to cure Lennon’s disease?”
“Of course it was him. I just provided him with a prescription.” Maxwell studied Greta’s beautiful face through the rear-view mirror and found Greta’s expressions were extremely cold at the moment.
Oh, he’d better not anger her since the beautiful president had gone bananas.
“Then what were you whispering about just now?” Harriet, who was sitting beside Greta, also brought up the question as she also saw Maxwell whispering with the chairman in the corner just now.
“I was just asking him about Lennon’s illness – whether it will reappear, something like that. If the disease isn’t healed and Lennon gets infuriated because of it and wants to punish us, we will be in great troubles.” Maxwell explained.
Greta snorted, “Start the car.”
The Maybach’s engine was then started and the car was galloping towards the distance.
…
On the other road of the Ocean City, Allison and Cecilia, who all had hideous expression, were sitting on the backseats of a black Benz that was bowling along the road.
“Bastard and bitch! How dared him order me to apologize to that bitch? They’re arrogant.” Allison cursed indignantly with her hair disheveled, feeling it hard to suppress her anger.
“When did the Sandovals ever suffer such kind of grievance? If it wasn’t because Andreas had shown respects to Lennon, he would have ordered his men to stuff them into packs and throw them into the river.” Allison chimed in in a cold voice and her eyes flashed cold lights.
Andreas, who was sitting on the passenger seat, had gloominess written all over his face as he said, “Aunt Allison and Aunt Cecilia, rest assured. I, Andreas Sandoval, will definitely revenge in them!”
Andreas’ phone sounded out of the blue.
He produced his phone and received a short video from an unknown device.
Andreas clicked the video and his expressions changed dramatically at the next moment with his whole person exuding an aura that carried horrible killing intentions.
The car was instantly shrouded in a cold ambience.
Andreas clenched the phone tightly and trembled all over. His eyes were so red that he looked like a ferocious beast that was outraged.
“Andreas, what’s wrong?” Allison and Cecilia had no idea about what had happed, yet they were all astonished by the killing intentions that Andreas was exuding.
They had never seen Andreas, who had always been imperturbable, lose control.
“Money. I want a large sum of money!” Andreas replied in a calm voice. Although his voice was not loud, his words shocked the others like a thunder.
Charlie was stunned, “Andreas, you’re not in short of money. Why are you asking for money now?”
Andreas curled his lips into a mysterious smile, “Dad, you’ll know about it soon…”
On the morning of the second day, Maxwell was doing housework as usual after Greta going out for work.
Suddenly, there came some clickety-clacking sounds from the upstairs. It was Harriet who was coming downstairs. Harriet shouted at Maxwell with a serious look, “Hey man, come here.”
“What’s the matter?” Maxwell walked over.
“Have a look of this.” Harriet handed the tablet PC to Maxwell.
Maxwell took the computer and his expressions changed slightly.
“What does this mean?” Maxwell handed back the tablet PC with a composed look and asked.
“After the opening quotation of the Sandoval Group in the morning, the company’s stock price has been slumping. It now has lost several billions!” Harriet said anxiously with a serious look.
“What’s going on?” Maxwell wrinkled his brows.
“I have no idea either. I’m afraid that the Sandoval Group is targeted by its rivals.” Harriet spit out her guess after pondering for a while.
…
The Sandoval Group was now in chaos. In the office building, the staffs were all in hurries and the ringtones could be heard constantly.
In the president’s office, Greta knitted her brows with her arms wrapped in front of her chest.
Phone calls kept coming in the president’s office and this showed no sign of stopping.
“Ms. Greta, something goes wrong. There’s a fluctuation in the stock market again and the stock price of our company plummets again.” A department manager rushed into the office and reported the news anxiously.
“Ms. Greta, I’m afraid that our stock price has been deliberately targeted by our rivals. They purchased the stocks of our company in bulk and then sold them at low price. The stock market is in utter shambles at the moment.” A female secretary of one of the directors also walked into the office with a gloomy face.
“Ms. Greta, the crisis supervision team has made a prediction that the Sandoval Group will go bankruptcy within 24 hours.” Melissa walked in in a hurry and handed Greta a report.
“What… what the hell is going on?” Even if Greta was quite experienced in business, there was a touch of panic flashing across her pale yet delicate face in the face of this sudden crisis.
She had never encountered such a weird and horrifying thing! The Sandoval Group, a big company, actually was on the verge of going bankruptcy overnight!
