Helen deliberately sipped her drink slowly, allowing the sedative to take effect. Soon, Isla began to grow drowsy, and within minutes, she slumped unconscious to the floor.
Helen moved Isla onto the bed, stripped off her clothes, and put them on herself. After covering Isla with a blanket, she quietly took the keycard and slipped out of the room.
Everything seemed to be unfolding perfectly.
However, as soon as Helen left, Isla began to stir, sitting up without hesitation. She grabbed a bottle of red wine from the shelf, poured herself a glass, and drank it slowly.
A few minutes later, Edith opened the door and entered the room. Her expression hardened as she watched Isla drink so recklessly, her voice cutting with a sharp warning. "Have you truly considered this? Once you make this decision, there's no going back."
Isla raised the wine bottle and poured it without the slightest hesitation. "At this stage in life, I've experienced it all. Each new day is a gift—what's there to regret?"

After the news of Jenson's capture came through, the team at the Newton residence in Miravell quickly moved to the next phase of their plan, mobilizing everyone while leaving only a small number of guards behind to maintain basic order.
Before heading out, James arrived at Kingsley's house and handed Serena a delicate pink gift box.
"Ms. Serena, please accept this," he said.
"What is it?" Serena asked.
James opened the box to reveal a sleek handgun and several corresponding firearm magazines. The handgun was compact, with a glossy white finish. A star-shaped sequin adorned the trigger, lending an elegant touch to its design.
Serena frowned slightly. "But I don't know how to use a gun."
James let out a sigh of relief, scratching his head awkwardly. "I'm glad you like it. Well, if there's nothing else, I should get going."
"Be careful out there," Serena reminded him.
"Of course!" James replied with a determined nod. He then turned and walked out with a confident stride.
"Don't be so quick to judge, he meant well," Serena said, defending James.
"Does that mean you're interested in him?"
