"Are you sure?" Thorne Henderson asked. "Don't you want to see your mom?"

Jasmine Henderson looked away. "I'll contact her myself if I want to see her. I don't need you to set it up."

Thorne looked at her, about to speak, when Jasmine's phone started ringing.

It was Charlene Ross calling.

Jasmine stared at the screen for a couple of seconds before picking up. "Mom."

"Hey, it's me," Charlene said on the other end of the line. "Do you want to come over and spend Thanksgiving Day with me?"

Jasmine hadn't been very affectionate lately, so Charlene wasn't sure if her daughter would be willing to go back to the Ross family for the holiday, but she had to ask anyway.

Jasmine hesitated for a moment before replying, "I'm not sure. Let me ask Dad later, and I'll let you know."

"Alright," Charlene said. "Just let me know once you decide."

"Okay, I will. Bye, Mom," Jasmine said.

After Charlene's voice faded, Jasmine hung up.

The car was quiet. Thorne had heard almost every word of their conversation. "It's up to you," he said.

He meant that he was fine with whatever she chose—whether she wanted to spend it with Charlene, with him, or if the three of them spent it together.

In the past, hearing Thorne say that would have guaranteed Jasmine picking the last option. Now, however, she simply asked, "If I don't go to Great-Grandma Helena's for Thanksgiving Day, what are your plans?"

"I'll head back to the main house to spend it with Great-Grandma."

"Oh." Jasmine didn't press further.

Once they got home, Jasmine still had things to do. As they headed upstairs, Thorne told her, "Get some rest early."

Jasmine ignored him, walking straight into her room and shutting the door.

The next day, after dropping Jasmine off at school, Thorne headed straight to the office.

Coy and Josh arrived right on time to give him the company updates.

After listening to their report and handing out his instructions, Thorne noticed Coy was still standing there. Without looking up, he asked, "Is there something else?"
