Gwen White woke up feeling pain.
She frowned as she opened her eyes and turned to look. It turned out that a nurse was inserting a needle for an IV infusion into her vein.
“Mrs. Crawford, you’re finally awake. You’ve been unconscious the whole day.” The nurse sighed a breath of relief.
Gwen had not fully regained her consciousness. She felt a splitting headache and as if her limbs were out of joint. That said, she moved her pale lips and asked, “What happened to me…”
“I was about to ask you, why do you have such a big wound on your head? You needed five stitches.”
Gwen recalled that she was hit by Janice Sanders.
On top of that, not only did Jared ignore her when she bled so much, but he also believed she hurt Janice, and he wanted to strangle her to death…
‘What a joke.’
Gwen twitched her mouth and felt a chill in her heart.
The nurse then added, “Luckily, you managed to ring for the nurse, so we were able to hurry over in time. If we were slightly later, you’ll be in danger due to massive loss of blood.”
“I rang for the nurse?” Gwen was stunned.
“Yes, you were the only one who lay on the bed in the ward when we arrived, so of course, you were the one who called.”
No.
Gwen remembered very clearly that she had passed out on the floor and did not press the button to call for the nurse.
‘Could someone have helped me?’
Gwen tried hard to recall the details before she fainted. As different scenes crossed her mind, she finally fixed on the one where she saw a strange man’s figure.
‘Did he save me?
‘But who is he?’
……
Gwen White asked every nurse in the hospital after that, but none of them saw that man.
If she had not remembered it so clearly, she would actually be doubtful of the man’s existence and thought everything was just her illusion.
Gwen was discharged after a few days and took a taxi back to the Crawford villa on her own.
Gwen clenched her fists. “What else do you want?”
“You’re pregnant?” Gwen froze at that instant and looked much paler than she already was.
“Yes, I just found out yesterday that I’ve been pregnant for more than a month.”
‘He has a child with another woman…’
“...”
Gwen did not think Janice’s words were purposeful at that time because she was naive enough to think Janice would never hurt her child no matter how despicable she was.
However, Gwen was proven wrong.
On top of that, she was going to have to pay a heart-wrenching price for her mistake.
