After walking a certain distance away with Zach, Stella could not help but turn to look. She frowned and asked, “Zach, who exactly is that person? Why did he call me… Gwen?”

Zach answered, “He’s Jared Crawford, the eldest son of the Crawford family in Fuzhou. Rumor has it that five years ago, he drove his legal wife, Gwen White, to suicide by jumping into the sea; it was all for his ex-lover. Only when Jared’s wife died, he started missing her dearly and was dispirited for a long time before he got back up again.

“Perhaps he mistook you for Gwen because you look very much like her.”

It was Stella’s first time hearing about it. “He drove his wife to commit suicide because of his lover, how dare he pretend to be so affectionate? He’s disgusting!”

Zach stroked her hair. “In any case, just try to avoid him the next time you see him.”

“Mr. Crawford, I found it. Stella Rose was born locally and raised in Haicheng. Her dad established a small construction company while her mom’s a high school teacher,” Jared’s secretary said through the phone.

“She and Zach met by the sea, and they fell in love so quickly that they got married after just two months. After marriage, they gave birth to a daughter, whose nickname is Lou. The three of them have been living happily together since.”

The next morning, Zach suddenly had to attend a conference call, so Stella could only bring Lou to the breakfast buffet herself. Just as she was getting some food, Lou ran away once more.

Stella furrowed her eyebrows and pursued her. “Lou, Lou, didn’t I ask you not to run around? Why won’t you listen to me?”

Lou ran toward a man, who passed her a pudding. The man then looked up deeply at Stella as he uttered, “Gwen.”

Stella furrowed her eyebrows even deeper. “Why is it you again?”

Jared answered, “Gwen, I’d like to speak to you alone.”

Jared’s eyes lit up. “Are you finally willing to admit that you recognize me?”
