too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian) novel Chapter 501

Andy raised an eyebrow, his careless demeanor making the arrogance and disdain in his eyes all too obvious.

To him, the person standing before him wasn't his sister, just a mere servant.

Faith narrowed her eyes slightly. "Who else did the family send over?"

That one question was enough to set Andy off. "Since when do you get to meddle in my business?"

A useless person like her dared to boss him around?

Faith's smirk was faint but dripping with mockery. "Oh, I can stay out of it. But do you want me telling the family everything you did abroad?"

This idiot of a brother hadn't changed one bit even after all these years.

"You've only been back a few days and already forgotten what you did overseas?" she asked again.

"Are you threatening me?" Andy snapped—he hadn't expected this.

The sister who had always obeyed him without question was talking back now.

"Faith, I call you my sister out of courtesy but don't forget your place. Do you think your status means anything? You're just a daughter meant to be married off. Whether you live well or not depends on me. Got that?"

His glare darkened. "Hand over the documents and get back to Luxford. Do that, and I'll pretend this never happened."

Faith let out a cold laugh. "I'm the one who secured the Morgan Group deal. If you want it, talk to Mr. Morgan and see if he'll give you another one."

"Don't push your luck!"

Andy growled and swung a hand toward her, but the hit never landed. His hand cut through nothing but air, momentum nearly making him stumble forward.

His anger flared hotter. "Faith, you little—"

Before he could finish, his eyes darted to Lila, who had pulled Faith out of the way just in time.
