Her eyes reddened with sudden emotion. Staring at the floor, she murmured an apology, her voice barely above a whisper.

“I’m sorry, Landon. I didn’t mean to talk about Zinnia like that. I’m just so worried about my brother that I lost control of what I was saying.”

“Alright, just don’t say things like that again.”

“Mr. Ford, Dr. Zephyr told me you’d be coming. Please, follow me.”

Landon and Noelle followed their guide down the corridor, eventually arriving at a glass-walled gallery overlooking the operating theater—a place where other doctors came to watch and learn.

From here, they had a clear view of everything happening inside the operating room.

The moment Landon’s eyes swept the room, he spotted a familiar figure among the cluster of surgeons.
