Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 39

She wasn’t the type to spiral into melancholy or self-destruction just because Landon had grown distant. In fact, the moment she’d arrived at the hospital that morning, she’d already scheduled an appointment with a therapist.

Her session was in just half an hour.

She glanced at her watch; if she left now, she’d get there right on time.

With that, she grabbed her purse and stepped out of the exam room.

She’d booked a session with a specialist.

Pushing open the door, she spotted a petite figure half-hidden behind a computer monitor. At the sound of the door, the woman looked up.

A youthful, round face came into view behind a pair of black-rimmed glasses.

For a second, surprise flickered in her eyes—she clearly recognized Zinnia. And Zinnia recognized her, too.

“It’s you?”

The round-faced doctor spoke first.

“Dr. Naomi?”

Zinnia’s voice was laced with confusion.

She’d booked with Naomi, a renowned expert in the field, and had expected someone older—certainly not the young woman who’d sat beside her on that flight just days ago.

Naomi nodded. “Yes, that’s me. Please, have a seat.”

Having recognized Zinnia, Naomi seemed to already understand why she was there.

“I…”

Even though she’d mentally prepared herself for this, words failed her now that she was sitting face to face with a therapist.

“That’s perfectly fine,” Naomi said warmly. “Let’s just chat, like we did on the plane. You can tell me anything you want.”
