The butler thoughtfully provided Celestine with various options.
"Alright, please give my regards to Grandfather. I'll visit him when I have time."
"Of course, Mrs. Fordham. We will certainly pass on your well wishes."
After hanging up, the butler respectfully handed the phone over.
Outside the hospital room, Alistair and Sanderson were staring at each other.
"Are you telling me Chester still hasn't woken up?! Cough, cough, cough!"
Sanderson quickly handed him a glass of water. "Dad, don't get so worked up. I told you not to come. The hospital has already come up with a treatment plan. As long as they surgically remove the blood clot in his brain, the chances of him waking up will be much higher."
"So, you personally sent Raymond back to torment Celly?"
"Dad! Relationships need to be nurtured! That includes mothers and sons! Celly has been away from the children for so long, one day she might not even feel like a mother anymore! Weren't you and Mom just like that when you were young?"
"You brat, you were never home when you grew up. Do you have any right to criticize your father?!" Alistair swatted Sanderson with his cane.
"Dad, I just got carried away! Let me help you get some rest first."
Sanderson surrendered, helping Alistair walk away.
Once they were on the elevator, Joanna emerged from the stairwell, her heart still pounding with fear.
Years ago, her failure to marry Chester was all because of those two old meddlers!
She stared at the closed elevator doors, her brow deeply furrowed.
Remembering the phone call from earlier, another wave of worry washed over her.
She didn't have many cards left to play to win favor with Chester. Ever since the plastic surgery incident, she could feel his distance.
Although Lance had resolved that matter, their family's standing could never compare to the Fordham family's deep roots in Portside City.
If Celestine and Raymond managed to reconcile this time, half of her years of effort would be wasted!
She shouldn't have run her mouth like that.
