Hidden behind the potted plants, Brian watched her retreating figure while holding his fruit basket. His eyes grew thoughtful. So Jessica is still using Atkinson Group skincare products?‘ he wondered. ‘Does that mean she’s not as opposed to me as she pretends to be?”
Brian thought it over, then picked up his phone and texted Jackson, telling him to bring over eight sets of their latest skincare products immediately.
Half an hour later, Sana got a call from the front desk saying Brian was here and specifically asking to see her.
“See me? Are you sure he asked for me?” Sana questioned, thinking she must have heard wrong. When Brian came to Grant Group, he was always looking for Jessica. ‘What could he possibly want with me?‘ he thought.
Sana headed downstairs, full of confusion, and found Brian holding a fruit basket while Jackson stood beside him with his hands full of skincare gift boxes.
“Mr. Atkinson, what’s all this?” Sana asked hesitantly, studying the two men. She couldn’t figure out what they were up to.
Brian didn’t answer right away. Instead, he gave Jackson a meaningful look, and Jackson immediately stepped forward with the products.
“Ms. Gardner, our company just launched a new skincare line that’s been getting great reviews,” Brian said warmly. “I thought you might like to try a few sets.”
“I don’t-” Sana started to refuse, but Brian cut her off.
“Ms. Gardner, if you find them too heavy to carry, I can have them delivered directly to your home,” he said smoothly.
Before Sana could respond, Wesley picked up two more sets from the floor and handed them to her. “Oh, and these two are for Jessica. I’d appreciate it if you could pass them along to her. Thanks.”
After saying that, Brian put down the products and left with Jackson, not giving Sana any chance to refuse.
Sana stared at the eight skincare sets sitting in front of her–the same ones she’d tried to buy online multiple times but could never get. Her feelings were all over the place.
She should have been happy about finally getting something she’d been wanting for so long, especially since it was free. But knowing that Brian had given them to her made everything complicated.
Sana had to admit that Brian was treating Jessica really well these days and putting in genuine effort. But he still hadn’t completely cut ties with Madeline, which made it hard to know what to think about him.
In the end, Sana decided to take the skincare sets home. They really were impossible to get online these days.
‘But should 1 actually follow Brian’s request and give them to Jessica?‘ Sana pondered. Then again, she’d already accepted them, so it might be rude not to deliver them.
“No! What’s wrong with that? Sana, how can you be so wishy–washy,” Sana scolded her reflection in the bathroom mirror.
“Brian is a jerk! Are you really going to help him manipulate people? Sana, you’re so disappointing! How could you accept anything from Brian?
“You’re just being shallow! A few little gift’s and you’re completely bought off! How can you face Jessica after everything she’s done for you?”
