Jacob, who had been playing games on the sofa, was startled by her voice. He immediately sat up, put down his ice cold cola, and looked at his dad obediently. “Dad, you’re back! I missed you so much.”

Brian walked to the sofa and took the game console from Jacob’s hand. Feeling the heat from the console, he frowned tightly.

“How long has he been playing?” Brian asked Sylvie, but his sharp gaze stayed on Jacob.

Sylvie looked at the clearly unhappy Brian, then at the guilty Jacob. After a moment of hesitation, she decided to tell the truth.

“Mr. Jacob Atkinson has been playing all day and has eaten a lot of snacks. You’d better give him some digestion medicine before bed, or he might have a

stomachache at night,” she said.

Brian looked even more annoyed when he heard this.

Jacob glared at Sylvie, jumped off the sofa, and grabbed Brian’s hand to beg for mercy. “Dad, you can’t punish me! You allowed this yesterday. I really only indulged today. I’ll study hard tomorrow and never play games again.”

As he spoke, he stuffed the game console back into Brian’s hand. “You can keep the console from now on. I’m sleepy and going to bed. Goodnight.”

Brian watched Jacob run fast and hesitated for a few seconds before deciding not to chase him. Jacob had already indulged all day, so lecturing him now seemed pointless.

Finally, Brian said to Sylvie, “Bring a glass of warm milk to Jacob and check if there’s any stomach medicine at home to give him too.”

“Okay.” Sylvie nodded and turned to get busy.

Brian carried his briefcase straight to the study to continue working. When he finished, he went to Jacob’s room and saw his son was already asleep, so

he didn’t disturb him.

In the middle of the night, Jacob, who was sound asleep, suddenly curled up with his hands on his stomach, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead involuntarily. “It hurts so much…”
