Marico Stapleton opened the trending topics. Someone had posted photos of Natalie Taylor and Hamilton Amos walking together into a mountain cabin, celebrating a birthday through a window, and leaving late at night.
These were taken from a stealthy angle. Although blurry, it was clear that the woman with Hamilton was Natalie.
As for the news of his own arrest, someone had managed to snap a photo of him stepping out of a police car in handcuffs.
With both events colliding, the public's appetite for gossip naturally ignited.
But the gossip quickly turned vicious. As Marico scrolled down, the feed was flooded with relentless abuse directed at Natalie.
The words were so vile he could barely stomach reading past the first few.
He immediately logged into his own account and started clapping back at every single comment.
"You're the one going to jail! Your whole family belongs behind bars!"
"Why the hell are you disappointed? She's not your wife!"
"Saying I've been cheated on? I bet you've been played for a fool a hundred times over!"
"If you had any shame, you wouldn't be spouting this garbage!"
"I'm cursing you out because you're begging for it!"
Marico literally replied to them one by one. His anger surged with every keystroke, and he simply couldn't stop. He glanced at the counter—tens of thousands of comments, and the number was rapidly climbing.
It was the first time he realized how exhausting it was to take on an entire mob alone. But they had insulted Natalie, and if he didn't fight back, the knot in his chest would never unravel.
Right as his thumbs were flying across the screen, Natalie called him.
He finished sending a fiery reply before picking up. "Make it quick. I'm busy."
"Marico, are you out of your mind? Who gave you the right to pick a fight with everyone online?"
