The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 419

There was definitely something fishy going on. Penelope tried to get Mrs. Stapleton to go upstairs and rest so she could get the truth out of Judy, but Mrs. Stapleton pushed her hand away.

“It’s good that you’re here. Saves me the trouble of calling you,” Mrs. Stapleton said, her expression turning serious as she took a deep breath. “I just found out today that you went and threw a fit at the Bishop family's home, smashed up their house, and even forced Mr. Hans Bishop to bow and apologize to you.”

Penelope glanced at Judy, catching the glint of triumph in her eyes.

“There were reasons for what happened. You can’t just listen to her side of the story.”

“The Stapleton and Bishop families have always been on good terms. How dare you try to stir up trouble between us!”

“Hans hit me first.”

“That’s enough. I want you to apologize to Mrs. Bishop!”

Penelope frowned. It was clear that Mrs. Stapleton had already been swayed by Judy, so any explanation she offered would be useless.

“I did nothing wrong, so I won’t apologize!”

Ignoring Mrs. Stapleton’s fury, Penelope turned to Judy and said coldly, “Mrs. Bishop, please refrain from contacting my mother-in-law in the future. Her health isn’t good, and she can’t handle your provocations.”

“We’re childhood friends! What right do you have to tell us not to see each other?”

“Please leave my house, right now!”

“Renata, look how capable she is. She’s already acting like the lady of the house. It won’t be long before she takes your place entirely.”

Penelope had been going out of her mind searching for Norton these past few days and was in no mood for Judy's manipulative games. She grabbed her by the hair and started dragging her toward the door.

“Ow, that hurts! Let go of me!” Mrs. Bishop yelped in pain.

Penelope swiftly dragged her to the doorway, but just then, Mrs. Stapleton rushed over and shoved her hard.

“Let her go! How could the Stapleton family have brought a shrew like you into our home? This is utterly disgraceful!”

Mrs. Stapleton not only berated Penelope but also hurried to help Mrs. Bishop up, taking her side.

Penelope wanted to snap back that Mrs. Stapleton couldn't tell who was on her side, but she bit her tongue. She’s mentally fragile; there was no point in provoking her further. “Please, go upstairs and rest. I’ll see Mrs. Bishop out.”
