I reached out and opened the door. When she saw me, the woman was obviously startled. Perhaps she did not expect me to be here.

"Was she being merciful to me by not holding me accountable?" Queenie suddenly laughed. Her laugh was helpless, and she got even angrier. After her burst of laughter, her scarlet eyes faced me. "How could I have been reduced to what I am now if she hadn't held me accountable?!"

We did not notice it just now, but now that she brought it up, I took a serious look at her. Her face was pale and haggard, and she had lost a lot of weight. Her eyes were no longer as clear as they used to be.

Instead, they were angry and dissatisfied.

I did not understand what she meant at all. "Queenie, what do you mean by that?"

She nodded. "Of course. You can ask them to take me home."
