The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 995

He had always believed his actions were flawless, never imagining that Alexander had seen through it all.

"No matter what, he's my son. He would never defy his own blood," Jake said, his voice stubborn, almost delusional. "Alex has worked diligently for the Davidson family for so many years without a single complaint. I don't believe he would rebel. He's always been obedient."

Seeing his obstinance, Mr. Gaylord shook his head, his eyes full of disappointment. "Davidson, you're too blind, and you underestimate him far too much. Do you think his obedience was real? It was a mask. It was his way of enduring. He's like a wolf you thought you'd tamed. On the surface, he follows your every command, but in the shadows, he's been gathering his strength, waiting for the day to strike back." He paused, his tone growing heavier. "Do you really think the accident at the engagement party was aimed at me? Perhaps it was just the first step in his plan. He's known about the deal between you and me for a long time. He knows about all the shady things we've done. He's just waiting for the right moment—a chance to break free from you completely."

Jake's face turned deathly white, his body trembling slightly. He thought back on Alexander's recent, uncharacteristic behavior. "Impossible…" Jake muttered to himself.

"Believe it or not," Mr. Gaylord said, standing and smoothing out his prison uniform. "That's all I can tell you. You're on your own now, Davidson. We've both lost this game. Alexander is the final winner." With that, Mr. Gaylord turned and walked out of the interview room, leaving Jake sitting alone, his face ashen and his eyes vacant. He stared out at the sunlight, and for the first time, the son he had personally groomed felt like a complete stranger, a terrifying one. He had no idea what Alexander would do next, nor what the future held for the Davidson family.
