The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 971

Gian’s offer came as a relief, saving her from the awkwardness of having to ask.

“I was going to invite you to stay, but I was worried you’d find it inconvenient.”

Danielle’s voice was tinged with hesitation. “It would be best if you could stay. My place is much more comfortable than a hotel, and it’ll be easier to get to the hospital tomorrow.”

Gian smiled faintly. “Ordinarily, it might seem a bit improper, but between us, there’s no need for such formalities.”

Danielle smiled back and stood up. “Let me go make up the guest room. There’s fresh bedding, I’ll go get it.”

“Don’t worry about it. I can do it myself.”

Gian gently took her wrist, shaking his head. “You’re not feeling well. You should go rest. I’ll handle everything else.”

His palm was warm and dry. The moment it touched her wrist, Danielle froze for a second before quickly pulling her hand back and nodding.

“Well, if you need anything, just call me.”

After watching Danielle disappear into the master bedroom, Gian turned and went to the guest room.

He expertly retrieved new linens from the closet and made the bed. Then, he went to the kitchen, heated a kettle, and poured a glass of warm water, placing it on Danielle’s nightstand before quietly retreating to his room.

Lying in bed, Gian couldn’t sleep.

His mind was filled with the image of Danielle’s pale face, and a knot of worry tightened in his chest.

He pulled out his phone, looked up remedies for an upset stomach, and booked a doctor’s appointment for the next morning. Only then did he feel a small measure of relief.

In the master bedroom, Danielle leaned against the headboard, her heart filled with warmth as she looked at the glass of water on her nightstand.

Gian’s thoughtfulness was as quiet and nourishing as a gentle rain.
