The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 937

Alexander noticed her distress at once. Glancing over, he saw her flushed face, dazed eyes, and the fine beads of sweat dotting her forehead. His heart tightened, and he pressed down on the accelerator. "How are you feeling? Are you unwell?"

Danielle shook her head, her voice raspy. "I'm fine... just a little hot..."

He frowned, reaching over to feel her forehead. The searing heat he felt there made his stomach drop. He knew Danielle was a lightweight, but he hadn't expected her to get this drunk, let alone develop a fever.

He said nothing more, focusing on driving, his only thought to get her home as quickly as possible. The car pulled into the residential complex and stopped downstairs.

Alexander got out, opened the passenger door, and carefully helped Danielle out of the car. She sagged against him, completely spent, letting him guide her into the building.

In the elevator, the heat radiating from Danielle's body grew more intense. She unconsciously leaned closer to Alexander, her nose brushing against his shirt, and inhaled his familiar cedar scent. The smell triggered a flood of memories, stirring a complex mix of emotions within her.

The elevator doors opened, and Alexander supported her to her apartment door. Danielle fumbled for her keys, but her hands were shaking too much to fit the key into the lock. Seeing her struggle, Alexander took the keys from her and opened the door.

Inside, he led her to the sofa and helped her sit down before heading to the kitchen for a glass of warm water. When he returned, he found her leaning against the sofa, gazing at him with hazy, unfocused eyes, her face crimson and her breathing ragged.

"Drink some water," Alexander said, holding the glass out to her.
