The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 754

“Why did you get depression?”

Alexander broke the silence, his voice calm but gentle. “Danielle, what happened tonight, the injury—don’t worry about it. There’s no need to feel responsible.”

Danielle looked up at him, her gaze locking with his deep, unreadable eyes.

There were so many emotions in them—too many for her to decipher.

“I chose this,” he went on, his voice soft, the words brushing against her heart like a feather.

“Are you sure you don’t need to go to the hospital?” she asked.

No matter how well-equipped their home was, it couldn’t compare to a hospital.

“It’s not the right time,” Alexander replied. “There’s no way to explain a wound like this at the hospital.”

If he went, there would be questions. Records. Now was definitely not the time.

Danielle pressed her lips together, worry furrowing her brow.

“I’ll be fine.”

Alexander watched the shifting emotions on her face, then suddenly let out a self-mocking laugh, the bitterness in his smile unmistakable. “Maybe you’d rather see me dead, after all. You once said you wanted me gone.”

Danielle’s breath caught.

She had said that—back when she hated him most.

But hearing it now, there was no satisfaction, no sense of revenge. Only a sharp, stabbing pain in her chest.

“I…” She tried to speak, but found her throat tight, as if something was lodged there. Not a word would come out.

Alexander saw the redness in her eyes and his own expression softened. When he spoke again, his voice was barely more than a whisper. “But I’ll hold onto my life. I’ll keep it—for you.”

He paused, his gaze unwavering, his words slow and deliberate. “So I can give it to you myself.”
