The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 730

Danielle stared at the man before her, her gaze clouded and unfocused.

His words drifted over her like a dream, surreal and distant. It was as if her chest had been stuffed with layer after layer of cotton, making it hard to breathe.

She looked at him, her eyes fixed, unable to utter a single word.

Questions burned inside her, but she couldn’t even figure out where to begin.

How could she possibly describe what she was feeling right now? Everything inside her was in complete disarray—utter chaos.

She had no idea what hidden force was driving all of this. What kind of crisis had pushed him to make such a drastic decision? What kind of danger had made this usually unflappable man set such a complicated plan in motion?

Throughout their years of marriage, Alexander must have known how much she longed for freedom.

Maybe their marriage had been a mistake from the very beginning.

She had told him, again and again, that she wanted to be free.

He had let her go—every single time.

Whatever she asked for, he gave.

But when he finally grew cold and distant, she realized it wasn’t really what she wanted.

All she’d ever wanted was a normal marriage, the kind of ordinary happiness other couples shared.

But by the time she understood that, it was already too late.

Everything was too late.

When danger closed in, the only thing he could do was push her away.

His coldness—she saw now—was what he thought would protect her.

Silent and withdrawn, Danielle’s mind raced, her thoughts a tangled mess.

Alexander drew a shaky breath, his lips pale. “Maybe it’s too much to take in. When you’ve had time to process, if you have questions, we can talk, but let’s not do it when we’re both emotional, alright?”

He looked exhausted, as if he were drifting in and out of a fog.

Danielle lowered her eyes and noticed a dark stain of blood spreading on the floor beneath him.

He had said so much, more than she could take in all at once.

In his eyes, she saw fear and confusion—nothing like the steady, unshakable man she used to know.

He looked terrified she might leave, terrified she was in danger.

That’s why he kept talking, desperate to say everything he could.

Maybe there was a reason for his coldness, maybe he thought he had no choice.

But did that mean she and their daughter deserved all that pain? Did that make their suffering just collateral damage?

In Alexander’s mind, Danielle was the one who wanted to leave, who wanted her freedom.

Emotional wounds always cut the deepest, and hers ran to the bone.

She had loved him so much. There was a time when he had been everything to her.

Even after he withdrew, she’d blamed herself, convinced she just wasn’t enough for him.

Only later did she realize how foolish that had been.

Men always have their own calculations, their own plans, hidden in their hearts and minds.

There were misunderstandings between them that would never fully clear, distances that could never be bridged.

Alexander could never bear to see her or their daughter suffer.

He had once convinced himself that everything he did was what she and their daughter needed. But in the end, he realized how wrong he’d been.

And so, he chose to stay cold, believing that was the only way to keep them safe. Maybe, just maybe, it was the best he could do.
