The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 718

Is this man out of his mind?

Did he forget how their marriage fell apart? How he treated her back then? Did Millie mean nothing to him?

Now, unbelievably, he was asking her to marry him again.

It was so absurd, Danielle almost laughed.

“Absolutely not.”

Her answer came so instantly, she didn’t even have to think.

She stood, ready to leave. She had no intention of staying a second longer in his presence.

But Alexander seized her wrist before she could take a step.

He looked up at her, eyes swirling with pain, obsession, and—God help her—a fleeting, desperate plea. “Danielle, I mean it.”

“Your sincerity means nothing to me,” she shot back, cold as ice, wrenching her arm in a futile attempt to free it. “We were over a long time ago.”

All around them, the guests had frozen, stunned into silence. No one had expected to witness a scene like this. Every breath seemed suspended as all eyes turned to them.

But Alexander acted as if he hadn’t heard a word. He tightened his grip on her wrist, his gaze burning into her. “We’re not over. Not unless I say so. As long as I’m alive, this isn’t finished.”

There was a harsh, almost lawless authority in his voice that made Danielle’s whole body tremble with anger.

“Let go of me, Alexander,” she said, her voice shaking. “This is my grandmother’s funeral. Don’t make a scene here.”

“I’m not making a scene.” His tone was low, stubborn. “I just want everyone to know: you’re my wife, and you always will be.”

Danielle stared into his eyes and saw nothing but unyielding obsession. A wave of helplessness and fear crashed over her.

She realized, in that moment, the man before her had completely lost his mind.

And she felt like he was dragging her down into an endless abyss, one she could never escape.

Danielle glared at him, her voice barely more than a harsh whisper. “You’re insane.”

She couldn’t stand to argue with him anymore.

In the study, Jake called Alexander in for a talk.

He’d heard every word.

Jake slammed his mug down, spilling tea across the polished mahogany desk. “Have you completely lost your mind?”

He jabbed a finger at Alexander, voice trembling with fury. “You want to get back together with her?”

Alexander stood by the window, posture rigid, his voice so calm it was almost cold. “This is none of your concern.”

“None of my concern?” Jake let out a humorless laugh, angrier than ever. “You’re the younger son of the Davidson family. Your marriage isn’t just your business—it’s the family’s reputation. If you go through with this, forget about calling me your father. The Davidson name will have nothing to do with you.”
