The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 710

Niki was always so mature—so heartbreakingly considerate it made Danielle ache inside.

She owed this child too much. She hadn’t given Niki a complete family, hadn’t been there for her as much as she should, and now she’d even let her daughter risk getting hurt just to make breakfast.

In the front seat, Alexander listened to the quiet exchange between mother and daughter. His grip tightened around the steering wheel, knuckles turning white.

Outside, the city blurred past the window. In the rearview mirror, he could see Danielle’s red-rimmed eyes and Niki’s brave attempts to comfort her mother despite her own pain. Tension coiled sharply in his chest.

He knew how hard these past years had been for Danielle—raising a child alone, fighting for her place in an industry dominated by men, pushing forward in the world of aerospace. The struggles she’d faced were almost unimaginable.

And all he could do was watch from a distance.

Divorce had been what she wanted. Leaving was her choice, too.

But sitting there now, he couldn’t help but wonder if he’d made a terrible mistake.

On the surface, he’d given her everything she’d asked for.

But was she truly happy?

Or had he misunderstood everything from the very beginning?

They reached the city hospital in no time. As soon as the car stopped, a group of doctors and nurses in white coats hurried out to meet them. At the front was the head of the burns unit.

“Mr. Davidson, this way please.”

Danielle faltered for a moment before realizing Alexander must have arranged this in advance.

“Make absolutely sure there won’t be a scar,” Alexander said, his voice low and commanding.

The doctor nodded quickly. “Of course, Mr. Davidson. We’ll use the best treatment available. She’s a child—we’ll be extra careful.”

A nurse gently took Niki from Danielle’s arms, speaking softly to reassure her. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’ll take care of you. It won’t hurt for long.”

Niki glanced back at Danielle, biting her lip, and nodded before the nurse led her away into the treatment room.

As the door closed behind them, all the tension drained out of Danielle’s body. Her knees buckled, and she nearly collapsed.

“I won’t jump to conclusions until I have proof,” he said, locking eyes with her, his expression unreadable. “But Nathan’s been away for years. I want you and Niki to keep your distance from him. Please—don’t let him get close again, alright?”

Danielle went silent.

She knew he was right.

There had been so many strange things about Nathan lately.

Grandma was getting older, yes, but she’d always been so careful about her health—walking in the park every day, eating right. How could she have had a sudden heart attack?

Why had Nathan gone to her room at that exact time? What had he done there?

Questions spun through Danielle’s mind until her head throbbed.

She didn’t answer Alexander.

Instead, she looked up and asked quietly, “Between you and Nathan, who do you think I should stay away from? Who’s hurt me more?”
