The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 692

Nash lowered his head respectfully and followed close behind. “There’s been no movement on their end,” he reported, his tone careful. “Everything’s proceeding as usual. The company is running smoothly—no suspicious activity at all.”

Alexander listened in silence, pausing mid-stride. He glanced back at Nash.

“No movement is the biggest problem,” Alexander said, his voice low. “He’s not making a move himself, but do you know who he’s cultivated abroad? Who he’s met? Who his allies are? What he’s actually doing? Has anyone looked into that?”

Nash hesitated. “We’ve already assigned people to investigate, but so far, nothing out of the ordinary has come up.”

Sometimes, when everything seemed perfectly normal, that was when you had to be most on guard.

“Are you sure you’re not being overly suspicious?” Nash asked quietly. “From what I can see, he really hasn’t done anything wrong. Maybe he just wants to come home and live quietly. Maybe the Davidson family isn’t even on his radar.”

Alexander let out a short, cold laugh.

After all those years living alongside Nathan, he knew exactly what kind of man he was—someone who never forgot a slight.

When Nathan’s mother died, the blame was pinned on Bianca. Back then, their father wasn’t such a powerful figure, and the Davidson family was just one of many among the local elite.

It was only over the last twenty or thirty years that they’d climbed their way to the top.

Jake, wanting to avoid scandal, sent Nathan abroad after his mother’s death, making sure he couldn’t come back.

From Nathan’s perspective, everything he’d lost was because of Bianca. He had fought with every member of the Davidson family, desperate to get justice for his mother and force Bianca out of the house.

Jake, furious, had exiled him overseas.

Meanwhile, Alexander—the so-called illegitimate son—ended up inheriting the entire Davidson estate.

Nathan, the legitimate heir, was left alone in a foreign country.

Anyone in his place would nurse a grudge. And Nathan blamed Alexander and his mother for everything, convinced their arrival had driven his own mother to despair and suicide.

For a long time, Nathan was cruel to him—unforgiving, relentless.

Nash froze, unable to say a word.

In the end, there was nothing he could do but drive him to the Guild.

Year-end work was always the busiest; everything was stacked up like a mountain.

Once Alexander returned, he strode into his office and dove into the paperwork.

The moment he sat down, a wave of dizziness hit him. He gripped the armrest until it passed, just barely steadying himself.

Nash watched, worry etched across his face.

“You haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?” he asked gently. “Let me get you something. What would you like?”

Alexander kept his eyes down, shuffling through the files. “Don’t bother.”
