The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 662

The man’s smile was gentle and refined, radiating the same warmth as always. As the CEO of Vanguard Technologies, he had a reputation for being remarkably approachable.

There was an easy grace to him, a kind of calm that put others at ease.

Nathan turned to Danielle. “Dani.”

She stepped forward and greeted them.

Harold glanced at Danielle, a twinkle in his eye. “It seems fate keeps bringing us together. Your brother’s running the Northridge division of Vanguard Technologies, and you’ve been my longtime business partner. Our ties are only getting deeper. Every time I come to Northridge, I’ll have to trouble you to show me around.”

Danielle smiled. “That’s no problem at all, Mr. Chapman. As long as you don’t mind a tour guide who’s a little out of practice.”

The small talk flowed easily among them.

They took their seats around the table, just as the event organizers had arranged.

They found themselves seated together at the banquet.

It was right about then that Keegan Clarke and Alexander entered the room.

Almost all the prominent scientists and researchers had been placed at this same table.

Gian caught sight of Alexander and Keegan approaching, then glanced at Danielle.

He leaned in slightly. “Looks like someone arranged for all of us to sit together. With Alexander at this table, there’s bound to be plenty of conversation—especially given the rumors swirling around you and Nathan last time. Nathan may not care, but people talk, and it still affects your reputation.”

Danielle knew he was right.

Last time, Nathan had tried to solidify their relationship—perhaps even to force her hand into marrying him.

And those rumors? There was always a seed of truth behind them.

After all, she’d barely separated from Alexander before she was expected to marry his older brother.

Alexander, dressed in a simple black suit rather than anything formal, carried himself with a cool, steady composure. His presence was calm and collected, almost distant.

His tone was warm, teasing, making it clear he meant no offense.

Alexander, holding a glass of wine and sitting with his legs casually crossed, watched the exchange in silence.

He didn’t join the conversation.

Gian shrugged. “I just think clarity matters, especially at work. Dani’s never felt the need to make a big deal of it, but in a professional setting, it’s better not to blur the lines.”

Keegan chimed in with a grin, “He’s right. These days, it seems everyone in a relationship calls each other ‘brother’ and ‘sister’—it’s all gotten a little too ambiguous. For adults, those nicknames can sound a bit… suggestive.”

Harold glanced at Nathan, then spoke up in his calm, measured way. “Nathan and Ms. Crawford have always been close. If they slip into old habits in private, it’s understandable—they just didn’t switch gears quickly enough in public.”

He turned to Alexander. “Chief Engineer Davidson, what brings you over here? You haven’t said a word. Are you above mingling with the rest of us?”

He called him “Chief Engineer Davidson”—a title that hadn’t been used in years.
