The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 659

Gian looked at Danielle. “Listening to you lay all this out, I just can’t shake the feeling that something’s off.”

“He wanted things to end up like this, and you’re just going to sit back and let it happen? If he’s surrounded by danger on all sides, what happens if he miscalculates, even just once?”

“If he really is playing some elaborate game, like you think, and he’s keeping you in the dark, don’t you think you’re putting a little too much faith in him? What makes you so sure his plan is foolproof?”

“And if he’s pushing his wife and daughter away for the sake of this ‘game,’ doesn’t that mean whatever he’s up against is beyond his ability to fix? Marriage means you rise and fall together. What if he just doesn’t want you to get dragged down with him?”

“You think he’s got everything under control, but from his perspective, he doesn’t even trust himself. That’s why he’s pushing you and your daughter away.”

Gian was a man, and in his mind, that gave him a better grasp of how men think.

If he had a wife and daughter, and found himself trapped in danger, he knew what he’d do—he’d try to get them out, no matter the cost.

Danielle closed her eyes briefly, her mind tangled up with memories and confusion.

Some things just didn’t add up, no matter how much she tried to reason them out.

But he must have had his reasons for what he did.

Did she really not sense Alexander’s feelings, his intentions?

Of course she did. When you get close to a blazing fire, how could you not feel the heat?

It was impossible not to.

Every time Alexander came near, she felt it. She just refused to let herself acknowledge it.

She could sense his contradictions—how he seemed cold, distant, yet always found reasons to be near her.

Sometimes, it was as if he was going mad, desperate and helpless.

If Alexander didn’t care for Millie, didn’t have another woman, no secret love from the past, why push his wife and daughter away?

Why let everyone believe Millie was the other woman?

Even now, there were plenty of people who still thought Millie was the love of his life.

Danielle and Gian climbed into the car.

She spent the entire drive lost in possibilities, running through every scenario she could imagine.

“Gian,” she finally said, “I’m not taking your theory as fact. But if it is true, I have to ask you—if you were married, a family man with a wife and daughter, and you were sinking into quicksand, would you make the same choice he did?”

Gian paused, silent for a few seconds. “I’ve never been in that situation. It’s hard to say.”

Danielle looked at him, her eyes cool and clear. “If that’s really how it is, then I don’t want that kind of sacrifice. Or that kind of protection.”
