The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 602

No matter how close Danielle was to them, she would never presume to judge someone else’s family matters.

Nathan’s gaze grew darker, though a sudden smile flickered across his face.

“I thought you hated him,” he said. “I figured when it came to things like this, you’d be biased. But it seems your reason always wins out. You really have no feelings left for him—not even hate?”

Danielle frowned, glancing at Nathan.

“Aren’t we supposed to be here for business?”

“If Alexander is handing over all the Davidson family’s business dealings to my older brother, then any future dealings with the Davidson Group should naturally go through him.”

Nathan continued, “It’s not that Alex wants to compete with me. He just doesn’t fight for the sake of not fighting.”

“And I didn’t come back to get into a power struggle either. All these years abroad—I wouldn’t have chosen that for myself.”

Danielle arched a brow, studying him.

No one really knew why Nathan had left the country so suddenly, least of all her.

Nathan drew in a slow breath, his eyes shadowed.

“People assume the Davidson family is a goldmine, but in reality, it’s a hot potato. Whoever holds it just ends up getting burned.”

“Is that so?” Danielle’s brows knit together. “Your brother’s being dramatic. There’s always risk in business—no need to make it sound like a curse.”

“I’m here today to talk about a partnership,” Nathan said, fixing her with a steady look. “Alex gave you a ten percent stake in the Davidson Group. You and I—we could work together.”

“The Davidson Group could belong to you and me.”

And now, Alexander’s sudden proposal to get back together… Was it really just about those shares? Did he think he could win back the Davidson family fortune through her?

Had he always assumed she’d take him back, no matter what? That her love for him would trump everything else?

He could plot and manipulate all he wanted—but could anyone ever predict the human heart?

Nathan watched the worry clouding her face and spoke again. “Niki is bright and full of promise—she’s destined for great things. You don’t want her in danger, not now, not ever.”

Danielle pressed her lips together. “I’ll think about what you’ve said.”

Nathan’s gaze was unreadable. “You and Alex were married for years. Did you ever really understand him? Sometimes, the colder and more detached a person seems, the more you should look for what’s hidden. He never let you truly know him. From the start, he never gave you his heart. All along, you were just a means to an end.”

“I’ve lived under the same roof with him for years. I see the flaws in men like him more clearly than anyone.”
