The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 589

Danielle’s brow furrowed, a deep line of frustration settling between her eyes.

Everything Alexander said sounded absurd—nonsensical and out of nowhere.

She pressed her lips together and fixed him with a stare. “Alexander, what on earth are you talking about? What are you even doing?”

A sudden knock broke the tension in the room.

It was the doctor Alexander had called.

The sound of knocking made Alexander’s grip on her arm loosen instantly.

Feeling his hand slacken, Danielle wasted no time—she sprang to her feet.

Alexander caught the way she couldn’t get away from him fast enough and gave a mocking little smirk.

The doctor entered, carrying a basic medical kit.

He asked where Niki was.

Danielle shot Alexander a look, her frown deepening, but said nothing. She led the doctor to the bedroom where Niki lay.

The doctor examined Niki thoroughly, checking her injuries with gentle hands.

Niki had suffered a few scrapes and bruises, which the doctor treated quickly and efficiently.

Danielle hovered nearby, her face tight with worry.

“My daughter’s going to be alright, isn’t she?” she asked, her voice trembling.

The doctor shook his head. “Nothing serious. Just some external injuries. But you should pay attention to her emotional state—children are sensitive, and she’s clearly been frightened.”

Danielle looked down at Niki, her heart aching. She hadn’t been able to relax since the moment she saw her daughter hurt.

After discussing Niki’s condition at length, and finally convinced there was nothing seriously wrong, Danielle thanked the doctor and saw him out.

When she turned around, Alexander was still sitting on the sofa. Danielle kept her distance, not daring to go near him, as if she feared he might lose control again at any moment.

Alexander watched her, amusement flickering in his eyes. “Standing all the way over there—are you afraid I’ll bite?”

“The doctor said Niki’s fine. You can leave now. There’s no reason for you to stay,” Danielle said coldly, practically telling him to get out. She couldn’t stand being alone with him—the very air in the room felt heavy and stifling.

Alexander didn’t move. He just stared at her, lips twitching into the ghost of a smile.

He tilted his head, a smug expression on his face. “You’re really that desperate to get rid of me? We haven’t finished our conversation.”

Danielle’s face remained icy. “There’s nothing left for us to talk about.”

Alexander didn’t skip a beat. “I want custody of my daughter.”

He brought the conversation right back to where he wanted it—he never let go of what he wanted.

Danielle let out a cold, hollow laugh. “And why do you want custody now? Because you just found out your son isn’t actually yours, and suddenly you remember you have a real daughter?”

“Alexander, get up. Don’t you dare play this game with me.”

He lay there, eyes tightly shut, giving no sign he’d heard her—like he’d really drifted off to sleep.

Danielle glared at him, utterly at a loss. She took a deep breath, then reached down to pull him up, determined to drag him out herself.

But he was heavy—impossibly so. No matter how hard she tugged, he wouldn’t budge.

If he insisted on spending the night here, the only thing she could do was call the police or get the building’s security to throw him out.

She let go and reached for her phone.

But just as she did, Alexander’s hand shot out and yanked her toward him.

Danielle gritted her teeth and jerked her hand free, stumbling backward several steps from the force.

Alexander’s voice was low and steady. “If I leave tonight, I’ll just come back every single day after this.”

His words landed with weight, heavy and unyielding—a thinly veiled threat.

Danielle couldn’t understand why Alexander was so determined to stay tonight.

She shot him a cold look. “If you want to talk, we can meet somewhere tomorrow during the day. It’s late. You should go.”

“I’ll just sit here. I won’t bother you. I’ll leave when the sun comes up,” he replied, settling in as if he owned the place.
