The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 400

She began to wonder if she’d misheard him.

Danielle’s voice dripped with mockery. “Alexander, who do you think you are?”

Jealousy only comes from caring about someone, and she felt absolutely nothing for him now—where was this jealousy supposed to come from? Honestly, he was far too full of himself.

“Mhm.” Alexander responded with a nonchalant hum.

He added, almost lazily, “Then I must’ve overthought it.”

“Whatever you say.”

Before Danielle could retort, the call ended abruptly—he’d hung up.

He’d made this call under the guise of consulting her opinion, but really, it was just to get under her skin. In the end, he still expected her to handle the project by herself. That last sentence of his almost sounded magnanimous, as if he were somehow the bigger person.

Danielle let out a cold, mirthless laugh.

Looking down at her phone, she realized there was no reason for them to stay in touch anymore.

Without hesitation, she blocked Alexander’s number.

From now on, if she needed anything from the Davidson family, she would only reach out to his grandmother.

Meanwhile—

Right before Alexander hung up, Liam and Millie entered his office, files in hand.

Liam let out a scornful laugh. “Danielle? She’s gotten more and more temperamental lately—probably spoiled by Gian. Now that she’s met Harold Chapman, who knows what she’s up to. Is she running a business or building her own little harem?”

Millie frowned. “Isn’t that a bit much to say about a woman?”

“Sure, Danielle’s actions have been out of line, but at the end of the day, a woman’s reputation is her most important asset.”

Alexander leaned back in his chair, listening to their conversation with a lazy flicker of his eyes.

“In business, nothing is achieved by ‘tricks’ alone,” he said, his tone calm.

Especially not at the highest levels.

Beauty, to people in their circles, was never in short supply.

Liam frowned, mulling over the meaning behind Alexander’s words.

That was the crux of it—mediocre beauty wasn’t worth a second glance.

Danielle may not have any remarkable skills, but even he had to admit, her looks were in a league of their own.

In their world, beauty like Danielle’s was rare—even among the elite.
