The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 398

Jason took a sip of his coffee. “It was nothing, really. Happy to help.”

He slid a folder across the table. “Here’s all the information. I can send you the electronic files as well. Take them home, discuss it with your mother, and get back to me when you’re ready.”

“With this treatment plan, you can buy a bit more time—enough to wait for a donor,” he added.

Danielle nodded. “Could you send me your contact info too?”

They wrapped up the conversation with an easy sense of understanding.

Danielle’s impression of Jason was nothing but positive. He was calm and steady—the kind of composure that seemed to come naturally to doctors.

Jason nodded, stood up, and straightened his coat. “I’ve got rounds to do upstairs. My patients are waiting. Take your time and talk it over with your mom before making any decisions.”

After he left, Danielle’s phone buzzed. Jason had already sent over the documents.

She scrolled through them again, carefully reviewing every detail from top to bottom. Then she opened her laptop and searched for more information.

Abroad, these techniques were already well-established. Still, the treatment wasn’t common; the costs were sky-high, and only a handful of patients could afford it. Even though the procedure was mature, real-world cases were rare.

She leaned back in her chair, waiting for her mother to arrive.

But her mother never showed.

Instead, she saw Millie and Alexander walk in.

Danielle’s gaze flicked to the doorway, just in time to catch Alexander’s eyes. His look was icy, unreadable.

Millie spotted her too and immediately tugged Alexander toward the table.

After all, Danielle and Alexander were already divorced. Alexander would hardly want Danielle involved in the Davidson family’s business. If she took over the event planning, it would solidify her own position as Mrs. Davidson—and give her a chance to network within the company, something AetherX Dynamics desperately needed.

Sure, Alexander had already introduced her to some impressive contacts, but Millie was determined to prove she could land projects on her own merit. She wasn’t about to let that upstart Ninesky outshine her.

Danielle stirred her coffee slowly, her expression unreadable.

If Alexander handed the gala to Millie, it would be as good as publicly acknowledging her as Mrs. Davidson. Millie had been back in the country for months, acting the part, and Alexander had never denied it. In the world of adults, silence is its own kind of agreement.

Alexander crossed his legs and leaned back, his expression neutral as he studied Danielle across the table.

“Is there a reason you don’t want to handle the anniversary?” he asked quietly.

Danielle’s smile was polite, but her eyes were cold. “Miss Fletcher is right. Given our situation, it’s no longer appropriate.”
