The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1430

Inside the shantytown, two-man patrols swept the grid every hundred and fifty feet. Their routes were deliberately randomized, making it impossible to time the gaps.

Worse, the alleys were overrun with territorial stray dogs. The second a stranger stepped foot in the dark, the barking would bring the whole cartel down on them.

"Looks like Harold is treating the Old Port like a bunker."

Alexander noted, his eyes scanning the report with chilling detachment. "Good. The more he turtles up, the more terrified he is."

"Mr. Davidson, what's our play?"

"We can't go in guns blazing. The whole district is on his payroll. If we breach, we'll get boxed in and slaughtered."

Carter's brow furrowed in frustration as he spoke.

"We're not breaching." Alexander shook his head and tapped a specific point on the map. "Here. The east service gate. It's an old fire lane. Traffic is dead, guard presence is minimal, and it's flanked by stacked shipping containers. Perfect cover. I'm going in tonight to map the interior."

"Are you out of your mind? No way!" Hayes protested immediately. "That's suicide. If they make you, you're a dead man."

"I have to go." Alexander's tone left no room for argument. "I don't trust anyone else with this recon. I need to see the layout with my own eyes to find his command center."

"I know what I'm doing. I'm not going to get myself killed."

Seeing the absolute finality in Alexander's eyes, Carter and Hayes knew better than to push it. They reluctantly nodded.
