The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1331

Danielle's voice carried a hint of hesitation. "Ever since I put the kids to bed, I've had this terrible feeling, like someone is watching us from outside the window."

Alexander's brows instantly furrowed, the gentleness in his eyes shifting into sharp alertness.

He patted the back of Danielle's hand. "Don't overthink it. Let me go take a look," he said, his voice low and steady.

Rising from the bed, he walked to the window and peered through the narrow gap in the curtains.

The night was pitch black, illuminated only by a few streetlamps scattered across the hotel courtyard. The snow-covered grounds were completely empty, without a single shadow in sight.

He pulled the curtains back and pushed the window open. A gust of freezing wind, laced with snow, whipped into the room, tossing the hair at his temples.

He carefully scanned the scenery outside. The hotel's backyard opened up into a vast expanse of snow.

In the distance, the mountain range rolled on endlessly. Aside from the rustle of the wind through the treetops, there was absolute silence.

"No one's there."

Alexander closed the window and turned back to Danielle's side. He reached out, gently ruffling her hair. "You're probably just exhausted. Hearing the news about your mom's divorce today was a massive emotional blow. It's making your mind play tricks on you."

Danielle nodded, though a faint sliver of unease still lingered in her chest.

She knew she was likely just being paranoid, but the suffocating sensation of being watched had felt incredibly real.

Seeming to read her mind, Alexander leaned down, scooped her into his arms, and carried her back toward the bed. "Stop worrying. Go to sleep."

"As long as I'm here, no one is going to hurt you or the kids."

His deep, unwavering voice carried a reassuring strength.

Danielle curled up against his chest, breathing in his familiar scent. The lingering anxiety in her heart slowly melted away under his warmth.

The rest of the night passed peacefully.

Early the next morning.

Niki and Raffy woke up bright and early, their playful chatter and laughter from the children's room waking Danielle and Alexander from their slumber.

After washing up, the family of four headed down to the dining room for breakfast.

The hotel offered a lavish buffet. The counters were lined with an endless array of pastries, hot dishes, and fresh coffee, filling the air with a mouthwatering aroma.

Niki and Raffy grabbed their little plates, excitedly darting around to pick out their favorite foods, while Danielle and Alexander followed closely behind, their eyes full of affection.

Just then, a familiar female voice rang out, dripping with forced enthusiasm. "Mr. Davidson, Ms. Crawford. What a coincidence."

Danielle and Alexander turned their heads simultaneously. Ella stood before them in a perfectly tailored cream-colored suit, her makeup flawless and her hair sleek and immaculate.
