The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1207

Outside the cave, the blizzard showed no sign of letting up.

The light inside grew dimmer, and a chill seeped through the cracks in the rock walls, a cold that seemed to ache in the bones.

Danielle rubbed Alexander’s purplish, frozen hand, but the warmth from her palm was like a stone dropped into the ocean. No matter how much she breathed on it or chafed it, she couldn't penetrate the deep, bone-chilling cold.

The man’s fingers were stiffly curled, the veins beneath his skin a faint blackish-blue. It was clearly frostbitten.

“It’s no use.”

Alexander gently withdrew his hand, his voice eerily calm. His fingers hung at his side like insensate icicles.

“It’s been numb for a while. I can’t feel anything.”

Danielle stared at his empty palm, her chest tightening with a suffocating feeling.

Her eyes scanned the cave and suddenly landed on a pile of dry branches in the corner. Her face lit up. “There are branches. Let’s start a fire.”

“Do you have a lighter?”

Alexander shook his head.

He hadn't smoked since he'd gotten together with Danielle.

He remembered she disliked the smell of smoke, and he had subconsciously avoided anything associated with it.

“I’ll do it.”

He crouched down, picked two suitably sized branches, and pulled a small multi-tool from his pocket. He began carving a shallow notch into one of the sticks.

Starting a fire with a hand drill was a basic survival skill, but it was incredibly taxing—not an easy task for him in his current state.

Danielle watched his focused expression, saw how his injured hand trembled with the effort, and frowned. “Do you need my help?”

“No.” Alexander didn’t look up, his voice low and steady. “Just sit still and stay warm.”
