The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1033

After she finished speaking, she didn't spare another glance at Alexander's shifting expression. She turned, returned to her desk, and began silently organizing the files on her computer.

Alexander didn't respond to her threat. Instead, he walked over to her desk.

His shadow fell over her workspace, and his tone remained flat. “The arrangement is temporary. You don't have to leave the project team, and our partnership with Ninesky is still valid.”

He paused, his eyes landing on the faint red lines in Danielle's eyes. “We're making this adjustment to lighten your workload.”

“I saw your medical report from last week. Your heart rate is elevated. You can't just trade your health for progress.”

Danielle was about to retort—what research project didn't involve overtime? The entire R&D department was running on fumes. But Alexander's next words made her swallow whatever she was about to say.

“Or are you saying you look down on Lorie? That you don't think she's competent enough to handle some of your tasks?”

The question was a perfectly crafted trap, shutting down all of Danielle's possible arguments.

She opened her mouth, but it felt like something was caught in her throat. She was truly speechless. The gazes of her colleagues drifted over, the sound of keyboards slowed, and a subtle quiet filled the air.

How could she look down on Lorie? Lorie wasn't like Millie. They were two completely different kinds of people. Lorie was genuinely skilled, with a solid foundation. In the past three days, she hadn't wasted a moment, arriving half an hour early each day to review data and spending her lunch breaks poring over wind tunnel test reports.

Danielle wasn't opposed to Lorie; she was opposed to this sudden, illogical arrangement.

Scientific research demanded logic and continuity. Every parameter in her wing spar load calculations corresponded to preceding aerodynamic data and structural strength analyses. Even a single decimal point deviation could skew the subsequent simulation results. No matter how capable Lorie was, she couldn't possibly grasp the analytical logic buried in the data in such a short time.

“Mr. Davidson, I'm not questioning Lorie's abilities,” Danielle said, taking a deep breath to steady her voice. “It's just that the wing spar load calculations involve the entire airframe's load-bearing structure. A proper handover takes time.”

“Give me at least three days. I'll document all the data's analytical logic, parameter sources, and key considerations, and I'll conduct a full technical debriefing with Lorie to ensure there are no issues when she takes over.”

Alexander looked at her tense profile and tapped his fingers lightly on the desk, not immediately agreeing. “No need for all that trouble.”
