The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1024

"As for the things she broke, bill her for the damages at full price. Go take care of it. Don't let her disturb the other patients." After hanging up, Alexander leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

Following Alexander's instructions, Nash went to Lorie's room. Taking in the wreckage on the floor and Lorie sobbing on the bed, he took a deep breath and stepped forward. "Miss Gaylord, you'll need to compensate the hospital for the items you broke. Also, Mr. Davidson said that if you wish to dissolve the engagement, he has no objections."

"Compensate? Dissolve the engagement?" Lorie looked up, her eyes red and swollen, and stared at Nash in disbelief. "That's how he treats me? I lost our child, and not only does he not care, but he wants to end our engagement?"

Nash stood his ground, his demeanor professional. "Miss Gaylord, Mr. Davidson has been extremely busy lately. The project is under a lot of pressure. I hope you can understand. As for the compensation, that's hospital policy. I'm just following orders."

"Understand? Why should I understand him?" Lorie grew more agitated, grabbing a folder from the table and hurling it at Nash. "Get out! I don't want to see any of you! Get out!"

Nash sidestepped the folder, which hit the wall and scattered papers across the floor. He looked at the hysterical woman, shook his head, and left the room. He knew then that the relationship between Lorie and Alexander was truly at its end.

A week later, Danielle was finally discharged from the hospital. Gian was waiting for her outside the room early that morning, holding a thick coat. "How are you feeling? Anything bothering you?" he asked with deep concern, taking the luggage from her hands.

"I'm fine, much better now," Danielle said with a smile, putting on the coat he offered. "Thank you for taking care of me all this time. And Kirsten, too. I'm sorry to have troubled you both."
