The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1020

The next morning, when Kirsten walked in with breakfast, she found Danielle propped up against the headboard, reviewing project files for Ninesky Technologies.

Although she hadn't fully recovered, she couldn't get work off her mind. The systems integration for the Project 07 fighter jet was on a tight deadline with a heavy workload, and she couldn't stand the thought of it falling behind.

“Well, look at you, already hard at work,” Kirsten said, placing the breakfast on the bedside table and gently taking the files from Danielle’s hands. “The doctor said your number one priority is to rest. Leave the work to us.”

Danielle managed a tired smile. “I know, but the project is urgent. Gian can’t possibly handle it all by himself. It’s the weekend, and he should be resting, but he still has to go into the office. I feel terrible about it.”

Kirsten unwrapped the breakfast and handed Danielle a bowl of broth. “Don’t worry. Gian already told me he can handle it. Besides, I don’t have anything else to do today, so I’ll head over to Ninesky to help him out. You just focus on getting better here and stop worrying.”

Danielle took the broth, but her brow furrowed. “I feel fine. Can you please handle the discharge papers for me? I can rest just as well at home.”

“Absolutely not!” Kirsten immediately objected. “The doctor said you need to be under observation for at least a week. It’s only been three days. You can’t leave. If you’re that desperate to go home, you can wait until you’re fully recovered. And you really don’t need to worry about work. I’ve already briefed the staff at my shop, so I’ll be at Ninesky keeping an eye on things for you. I promise nothing will go wrong.”
