Chapter 336
On the way, her stomach suddenly cramped. Lucky for her, there was a restroom right there. She didn’t need to suffer while searching around.
Jessica felt relieved as she took care of business in the restroom. She washed her hands and was ready to continue to the restaurant when someone approached from the entrance.
“Jessi, what a coincidence!” Madeline greeted her with a bright smile.
“You followed me.” Jessica stared at her coldly, not buying that this was really just a coincidence.
“Jessi, what are you talking about? Why would I follow you?” Madeline denied it completely.
Jessica stepped closer, looking down at her with cold eyes. “If you’re not following me, explain why you’re here.”
“Because I just finished my prenatal checkup at the nearby hospital and came here for lunch,” Madeline replied with a hint of coldness.
She pulled out a forged medical report from her bag. “The doctor said I’m at risk of miscarriage because I keep getting scared. Are you happy now, Jessica?”
With that, she raised her hand, about to slap the report across Jessica’s face.
Jessica grabbed Madeline’s wrist and shoved her back hard. “Stop acting crazy. What does your unstable pregnancy have to do with me?”
Madeline stumbled back two steps, then let out a sneer.
She said, “Jessica, don’t play dumb. You’re the one who told my parents. You know exactly how horrible things are for me at home, and you still gave them my information. Do you have any idea what they did to me?”
She raised her wrist, revealing a fresh knife wound about the length of her palm.
Of course, it was fake.
But seeing Jessica’s reaction, Madeline knew her little scheme had worked again.
“Jessica, if they beat me to death one day, you’ll be a murderer!” Madeline snarled.
Jessica’s hands slowly clenched into fists. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Go be crazy somewhere else.”
Jessica wouldn’t admit anything. If Madeline had guts, she could find proof and sue her. Jessica knew Madeline wouldn’t dare.
Madeline had done far worse things than she ever had.
Jessica threw out those words and turned to leave, but Madeline grabbed her wrist.
“Think you can just walk away? Jessica, you’d even hurt a pregnant woman–aren’t you afraid of what goes around comes around?” Madeline moved closer, her voice low and menacing.
Jessica laughed, “You should be telling yourself that.”
“You-!” Madeline’s hands shook with rage.
Jessica yanked her arm free. “Get lost!”
But Madeline wouldn’t let it go. She chased after her, shouting, “Don’t get too cocky, Jessica! I’m warning you–if my parents make me lose this baby because of all this drama, I’ll never forgive you!”
Jessica’s steps faltered for just a moment, then she quickened her pace and disappeared around the corner.

Chapter 336
This time, Madeline didn’t follow.
Jessica rushed out of the mall in one breath, not daring to look back until she was safely outside.
The words on that pregnancy report had cut deep into her heart.
Madeline was really pregnant, only two months behind her own timeline.
Jessica couldn’t understand why Brian was confident in keeping this from her forever.
Madeline’s threats haunted her thoughts. She wanted to ignore them, but couldn’t stop the words from replaying in her mind.
If Madeline truly went crazy with revenge after losing her child, Jessica wasn’t sure she could protect herself.
And when that time came, she didn’t know if Brian would still stand by her side.
Jessica didn’t know, but couldn’t stop her mind from racing toward the worst possible outcomes. Too many bad endings weighed on her, leaving her emotionally drained.
That evening, when she returned home, her energy was clearly diminished.
Brian, who had been waiting at her door with Jacob, frowned when he saw her. “Jessica, has Grant Group been keeping you really busy lately?”
