"Yeah, just a little nap. Are you still at work? Have you eaten yet?"

"I ate. I'm actually at the hospital right now."

"The hospital?" Willa instantly panicked. "What's wrong? Are you sick?"

"No, my period was late, so I came to the hospital to get checked. Professor Penn personally had them draw my blood—Mom, I'm pregnant!"

Willa didn't even wait for her daughter to finish the sentence before she shot straight up in bed, her face trembling as a massive smile broke across her features.

"Pre—pregnant? Already? Oh, thank god! This is wonderful! I'm going to be a grandmother! I'm going to be a grandmother!" Willa was so overjoyed she could barely stutter out the words, her hands fluttering in sheer, helpless excitement.

Every mother's deepest wish is to see her precious daughter find the perfect man and start a beautiful family. With her terminal illness advancing rapidly and her time running out, Willa wanted nothing more than to see her daughter's life complete.
