The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 1030

An ache settled in Katrina's chest. She knew the second she admitted her feelings out loud tonight, she had plummeted right back into his irresistible snare.

Were they really going to do this? Were they actually going to reignite the spark and give it another try?

She clamped her lips shut, refusing to speak. Seeing her looking so overwhelmed and fragile made Naylor's heart physically clench.

"Katrina, after everything you've just admitted, how do you expect me to ever let you go... huh?"

Katrina's eyelashes fluttered violently against her cheeks.

Hearing his low, husky whisper, and watching his devastatingly handsome face inch closer, Katrina suddenly realized exactly what was about to happen...

"Naylor, don't do this. We need to talk this out properly... mmph!"

She didn't even get to finish her warning. Completely consumed by his own desire, Naylor tilted his head, his hand wrapping around the back of her neck as he crashed his lips down against her soft, defiant mouth.

"..." Katrina let out a muffled gasp, her entire body trembling violently.

Naylor was just as far gone.

The hand he had planted on the wall dropped instantly, wrapping securely around her waist. He pulled her flush against him, entirely erasing the space between them as he crushed her soft, trembling frame against his chest.

"Naylor..." Katrina whimpered into his mouth, but he swallowed the rest of her words.

At first, Katrina desperately tried to fight it, her muscles going rigid in silent, frantic protest.

But as the seconds ticked by and the kiss deepened into something dark and consuming, the searing, deeply familiar scent of him dragged her mind straight back to the most intoxicating days of their relationship.

In a heartbeat, all of her rigid defenses shattered, and her spine practically melted against him.

After what felt like an eternity, Naylor finally pulled back just a fraction. His voice was a raw, hypnotic rasp. "Katrina... if we could turn back time and go back to that night... before you broke up with me, you should have at least asked me the question. You should have heard my answer—"

Katrina shook her head weakly. "There's no point. You can't force something that isn't meant to be."

"Not necessarily. You have to actually take the leap to find out. Maybe I would have said yes right then and there, and we wouldn't have wasted these last few months."

"..." Katrina fell completely silent. Her eyes snapped open, locking onto the dark, burning gaze lingering mere inches from her own.

Their noses were practically brushing, their uneven breaths mingling in the tight space.

Naylor smiled softly, leaning in to steal two more quick, possessive kisses before continuing his relentless coaxing. "Are you absolutely sure you want to throw this chance away again?"

Katrina's heart hammered against her ribs, her lungs struggling for air. "What are you saying?"

"I'm saying, pretend we're back on that night. Ask me the question."

Katrina stared at him, utterly paralyzed.

Had he really thought this through?

He wanted to marry her?

It wasn't out of pity. It wasn't some twisted form of charity. He had genuinely, fundamentally changed his mind and actually wanted to get married?
