Isaac stares at Anthony, momentarily unsure of how to navigate the standoff. Just as he resolves to remain silent and push past him, he catches sight of Max striding through the main entrance.
Anthony and Savannah notice him at the exact same moment. As the imposing man draws near, Isaac dips his head. "Mr. Hawthorne."
Max's piercing gaze locks onto Anthony. Though Anthony stands at an impressive six feet tall, he is still a fraction shorter than Max. Meeting the intense glare, Anthony offers a tight, polite smile. "So it is Mr. Hawthorne who needs our CEO."
"Where is he?" Max demands, his voice dangerously low.
Anthony shrugs casually. "If you are looking for him, then I am afraid I genuinely don't know."
Max stares him down, a flicker of pure, unadulterated malice flashing in the depths of his dark eyes.
"We have a prior engagement, so we will be on our way. Make yourself at home," Anthony says, stepping past Max and heading for the exit. Max makes no move to stop him. Savannah shoots Max a wary glance, choosing to stay silent as she hurries after Anthony.
Once they are safely in their car, Savannah voices her anxiety. "Did something happen?"
None of them know what Jeremy is currently doing, nor do they have any updates on Felicia's condition with Jeffrey. Max storming in with such murderous intent definitely signals that something has gone terribly wrong.
"I have no idea. Let me try calling him," Anthony replies, pulling out his phone. He dials Jeremy's number, but it fails to connect. Jeremy had mentioned two days ago that he had a personal matter to handle, and his phone has been entirely blocked from receiving signals ever since.
Watching Anthony lower his phone, Savannah asks, "Still nothing?"
