The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback novel Chapter 1109

Ava was under the impression that Jeffery and Willa were only siblings.

"For now, we just need to give Willa a temporary place to stay," Felicia explained. "We can worry about the future later."

"Do you think Max will agree to it?" Ava asked.

"He probably will."

Ava could not help but voice another concern. "If things keep going like this, you will not be able to hide your pregnancy from him for much longer."

"Let nature take its course," Felicia replied softly. "If he is meant to know, he will find out eventually."

"I suppose that is all we can do. On the day of your checkup, make sure you come home early."

"I know."

Ava let out a heavy sigh as her thoughts drifted to the events of the previous day. "Anne seems completely averse to Jeremy now."

Anne had interrupted whenever Felicia and Jeremy tried to speak. When Jeremy had offered the little girl her favorite foods, she had flatly refused to eat them. Her resistance was abundantly clear.

Even though Felicia and Max were divorced, Felicia had to consider Anne's feelings. Being with anyone else would not be easy, let alone with another baby on the way. Felicia had suffered deeply because of her own mother's absence, and she loved Anne too much to ever let her experience that same pain. She would likely force herself to accept Max again, meaning she and Max would remain entangled indefinitely. A mother would always put her child first.

"We should avoid having meals together like we did yesterday," Ava added, feeling a pang of guilt toward Jeremy. If it were up to her, she truly would have wanted Felicia and Jeremy to end up together.

Felicia was well aware of what was going through her daughter's mind. She gave a subtle nod. She needed to find an opportunity to make things clear to Jeremy. Even if she had no intention of remarrying Max, she still had to prioritize Anne.

At noon, Felicia dialed Max's number. He answered almost immediately.
