As the successor of the reincarnation race, the leader of the Reincarnation Palace had heard of Old Lady Meng.
"Ravi, why don't you greet Old Lady Meng?"
the leader of the Reincarnation Palace told the young man.
"Madam, is it true you're Old Lady Meng?"
Ravi asked, looking at the old woman.
"Yes, it's true,"
Old Lady Meng replied with a nod of confirmation.
Ravi's uncouth behavior bothered her.
But since he was one of the reincarnation race's successors, Old Lady Meng chose not to get mad at him.
"I'm lucky to be meeting you, madam,"
Ravi greeted as he bowed to Old Lady Meng.
"Young man, who is your master?"
Old Lady Meng asked, resting her eyes on Ravi.
As a successor, he must be a disciple to a member of the reincarnation race.
"I'm fairly sorry, madam. However, that is not something I'm at liberty to share with you.
My master has instructed me not to reveal his name and background to anyone.
If you truly want to know, you will have to wait until you meet him yourself sometime in the future,"
Ravi replied.
Austin's eyes narrowed at Ravi's words.
'This Ravi guy is a never-ending well of secrets.
Not just that. He is arrogant and contemptuous. From the looks of it, he doesn't even trust Old Lady Meng.'
At the thought of this, Austin didn't see eye to eye with Ravi.
"I'll collect this fragment," Austin said.
Then he walked forward, gestured with his hand, and gathered the Memory Bridge's fragment.
While he did that, Ravi observed him.
It appeared that he wanted to say something, but he didn't.
All he did was look at Austin with displeasure.
Austin caught this, but he didn't pay him any heed.
He could tell Ravi didn't think highly of him.
The thing was, the feelings were mutual.
To his mind, there was something off about Ravi.
"Madam, let's continue looking for the fragments,"
Austin said to Old Lady Meng through his spiritual sense.
Old Lady Meng had sensed several fragments of the Memory Bridge herself.
So far, they had just collected two of them.
"Fine by me."
Old Lady Meng gave him a nod.
As the one responsible for guarding the Memory Bridge back then, she was attached to it.
Hence, she wanted to collect all its fragments as soon as possible.
"Austin, what are you planning on doing?
I would like to go with you,"
the leader of the Reincarnation Palace offered.
"I am going to continue to look for the fragments of the road of reincarnation.
So you want to join me?"
Austin asked.
"Yes.
That way, we can watch each other's back.
We're not the only ones looking for them, after all.
The darkness race is too.
It's possible they could ambush us.
I think it would be best to remain together.
If we act alone, we will be outnumbered and immediately lose once we cross paths with them,"
the leader of the Reincarnation Palace explained.
"I see.
You do make a good point,"
Austin responded.
He knew that the leader of the Reincarnation Palace was far weaker than him.
She wouldn't be able to escape if she ran into the creatures of darkness.
When he heard that, Ravi's eyebrows furrowed.
"I don't think that's a good idea. Sure, there is strength in numbers.
But I think it would be better if we split up and look for them on our own.
That would be far more efficient.
So, I think the two of us should work together. He could go on his own.
That would be better all around,"
Ravi said to the leader of the Reincarnation Palace.
It was evident he didn't want to go along with Austin.
Under Old Lady Meng's guidance, Austin headed for the Absolute Space Sea.
Ravi brought the end of their party. It gave him the chance to secretly take out a Contact Jade Slip and send a message through it.
The leader of the Reincarnation Palace quickened her pace and caught up with Austin.
"Austin, you have been in the Absolute Space Sea for quite a long time. You must have acquired a lot, haven't you?"
she said to Austin.
"I merely traveled around; there wasn't much to acquire,"
Austin said with a smile.
"Then you must have gathered many fragments of the road of reincarnation already. Right?"
the leader continued.
"Yes, you're right. I do have several of them in my possession,"
Austin answered honestly.
"But they're just a drop in the bucket.
The road of reincarnation is too large,"
Austin pointed out.
"That's true.
It is indeed expansive.
We still have a long way to go if we want to rebuild it,"
the leader of the Reincarnation Palace responded with a sigh.
"I heard there are more successors of the reincarnation race looking for the fragments in the Absolute Space Sea.
As long as we don't give up,
I'm certain we will collect all the fragments one day.
Then, we will be able to make the road of reincarnation reappear,"
the leader said with determination on her face.
"You are right.
One day, we will definitely rebuild the road of reincarnation.
I know we can do this,"
Austin said.
While the pair talked, Ravi followed them in silence.
He looked at Austin from time to time, hostility marring his eyes.
Finally, they came to another space sea.
"Madam, are there any fragments of the Memory Bridge in this space sea?"
Austin asked Old Lady Meng.
