"No way!" the fire beast with four hooves shouted in utter disbelief.
Staring at Austin in the distance, it couldn't believe its foe sent it flying backwards in one blow.
As it was battling the young man, the fire beast was shocked to find out how incredibly powerful his blade skills were, especially the last one he used.
'I see,' Austin thought to himself.
He finally gained a deeper understanding of blade skills.
The move he had just performed was the most powerful blade skill he had mastered.
"I'm not done with you yet!"
the fire beast roared, struggling to get on its feet.
"You only won that round because I was careless.
Now, let's end this!"
The fire beast seemed determined to put up another fight.
"Okay!
Quit talking and fight me!" Austin taunted.
Secretly, he was itching to fight, and the fire beast was a good way for him to do so. In taking on this powerful fire beast, Austin hoped he would be able to improve his blade skills.
"Take this!"
The fire beast then rushed towards Austin at an astonishing speed.
Austin raised his blade in kind and dashed towards it unflinchingly.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The two sides fought intensely, the sounds of their battle echoing in the air.
The blade in Austin's hand released energy whose strength kept increasing. At the same time, it released a powerful blade law.
As a result, more insights about blade skills constantly appeared in his Soul Sea.
This made Austin's understanding of the blade law more profound.
As the battle went on, Austin's blade skills continued to improve.
Every time he swung his blade, the fire beast was forced to step back.
'What the hell is going on?' the fire beast cursed in its heart, ducking to dodge Austin's blade.
'Why is he getting more powerful?
Is he just using me to hone his skills?'
The longer the monster fought, the more upset it became. It couldn't find any opportunity to strike back. Instead, the fire beast had to focus on stepping backwards to avoid being hit.
"Knock it off." An authoritative voice suddenly boomed.
"Can't you see?
You have lost!
You are no longer a match for this young man."
An older fire beast that resembled the first one stepped forward.
"Sir, I..."
The younger fire beast started to say.
"This young man's blade skills have been improving, didn't you notice?
He just used you to help him practice.
If you keep fighting with him, you will definitely lose!"
the chief shook its head.
The junior one knew that what the old fire beast was saying was right.
"Fine," it responded reluctantly.
The chief was highly respected in its race.
The junior fire beast obeyed and immediately stopped fighting.
"Well, you win, little guy," it admitted to Austin.
"There is no need for us to continue to fight."
The fire beast eyed Austin warily, secretly thankful it had been spared any more injury. If the battle went on, things probably would've turned sour for it.
Austin also stopped attacking. With the blade in his hand, he stood there motionlessly and closed his eyes.
The blade laws and his comprehension of blade skills appeared in his Soul Sea. He needed to take the time to digest them.
"This young man is really something!"
"I can't believe he picked up a few things while he was fighting."
Both sides were powerful. The massive amounts of energy they released caused the space to ripple violently, as if it were going to shatter at any moment.
A day had passed.
The battle was drawing to a close. Austin had left a deep cut on the back of the flood dragon with his blade.
Blue blood spurted out from the wound.
"Stop! I admit defeat!" the flood dragon shouted in panic as it hurriedly took several steps back.
Its eyes widened in fear as it looked at the blade in Austin's hand.
Austin quickly acquiesced and stopped fighting. To his pleasant surprise, his blade skills had improved again.
Although it cost him a considerable amount of time, he had managed to harvest a lot.
Austin smiled gently. He didn't hate those beasts.
He realized now that these beasts were only trying to stop them from approaching the Immortal Tribulation Tree because it was their master's order.
Austin firmly believed they didn't mean to make things difficult for them,
and they were probably just doing their job.
'The reason why these beasts from the two races live in this star is because they were tasked with protecting that Immortal Tribulation Tree,'
Austin thought to himself.
'If I defeat them all and take the Immortal Tribulation Tree with me, would that mean their mission here is over? That way, I guess they'd be able to finally leave this place and go wherever they want.
I wonder if I can bring all of them back to the Sea of Chaos.'
Then, Austin's eyes flashed. An idea suddenly occurred to him.
'If I bring all of them to the Sea of Chaos, Humphrey will be in big trouble!
After all, each member of the two races is as powerful as a chaotic sky-devouring beast. The primitive gifted beast's blood power is equal or more powerful than the blood power of the chaotic sky-devouring beast.
No matter how strong Humphrey is, there is no way he can face so many primitive gifted beasts at the same time!'
While the idea was tantalizing, Austin couldn't help but smile bitterly. He knew he and the chaotic sky-beast needed to defeat all these monsters first.
Only then would he be able to try convincing them to follow him back to the Sea of Chaos. If he brought it up now, they would undoubtedly ignore him.
'I'd better focus on fighting them,'
Austin decided determinedly.
