Maxcus had already decided. As long as he had the chance, he would definitely make those three pay a painful price. He stiffly produced three hundred thousand spirit crystals and handed them to Tanner. Tanner smiled as he accepted them, counting the crystals right in front of them.
After making sure there were no problems, he said with a smile, "See? It's all settled now! I've always been an easygoing man. I won't go back on my words. However, I don't really have much patience. Had you continued wasting time, then it would not just be three hundred thousand!"
Joran huffed in anger. His eyes were about to pop out of their sockets as he swallowed back what he wanted to say. Maxcus could feel the anger in Joran, and he was worried that something would happen if they stayed on, "Alright, let's go!"
Tanner's lips curled up into a smile of disdain. He had not been planning on killing those three at all. Even though the three of them were all injured, he would not have that good a time dealing with them if they really put their lives on the line. Rather than that, it was far better to make a small profit.
As for whether or not they would want revenge, Tanner did not care. The Toman Battlefield was massive. Even on the final day, when the whole battlefield had already shrunk seven times, it was still an enormous place. They would not meet again after they had parted.
After leaving the Toman Battlefield, they would be in their respective cities. The chances of them meeting each other were very small. Furthermore, they had their respective things to do. Even if they wanted revenge, it would still not be as important as improving themselves. After all, they did not enter the Whirling World to settle their personal grudges, but to get stronger!
Lanz nodded and said, "Probably! Didn't that guy say he still had a fourth?! He probably received information on something just now. Either they found a new nest, or a new target to rob."
As he said that, Lanz's teeth were clenched. He had kept his cool the whole time and had not been reckless like Joran. He had even managed to control his expressions very well. However, it did not mean that he was not angry. Instead, he was just as angry as Joran.
It was just that Lanz was smart enough to not show it. With those three gone, he could no longer hold back his anger. He clenched his teeth as he looked at where that group was heading to. He was furious as he cursed. Just as the two of them were guessing where Tanner's group was going, they heard a cold voice speak up.
