The Secret Pregnancy of the Billionaire’s Ex–Wife
Chapter 178: The Final Meeting
Sean POV
The next morning, I arrived early at Angela’s building, just as I’d been doing every day since discovering the twins.
I waited patiently by my car, ready to take the children to school. Despite Angela’s cool demeanor toward me, I took solace in the fact that she hadn’t completely rejected my presence in our children’s lives. It was a small victory, but one I cherished.
“At least she’s not completely shutting me out,” I thought, watching as Aria skipped toward the car, her dark curls bouncing with each step. “I’ll make up for my past mistakes, one day at a time.”
As Ethan climbed in beside his sister, I caught Angela’s gaze briefly before she turned away.
Though she maintained her distance, her willingness to let me take part in the children’s routine gave me hope. Progress would be slow, but I was determined.
Later that evening, as I sat in my car sketching house designs–a family home I envisioned for Angela and the twins–Peter’s voice interrupted my concentration.
“Mr. Shaw, Miss Jordan is here again.”
I felt my brow furrow as I looked up from my sketches. Through the windshield, I could see Christina standing by my gates, her face pinched with desperation, clutching her designer handbag as she shivered in the cold.
“Tell her to leave,” I ordered, my voice clipped.
“And if she refuses?” Peter asked hesitantly.
“Then call Thomas and have him handle it.”
As Peter approached Christina, I watched their exchange with growing irritation. Then something struck me–how many times had I desperately waited for Angela, refusing to leave until she acknowledged me? Had I been just as pathetic, just as unwelcome?
The thought sent a sharp pain through my chest. I’d become exactly what I now despised in Christina.
Peter returned to the car, his expression apologetic. “Sir, she claims she’s here to say goodbye. She says it’s important.”
My eyes narrowed. “Goodbye? If she wants to say goodbye, she can call me.”
Minutes later, I watched as Christina collapsed beside the car, her tears flowing freely as she cried out, “Sean, please! I just want to say goodbye before I leave. Won’t you even give me that much?”
Something twisted in my chest. Despite everything, despite knowing what she’d done–deleting Angela’s pregnancy message, offering her money–some misplaced sense of obligation still lingered.
“She’s leaving for good, sir,” Peter suggested quietly. “Perhaps this really is the last time.”
With a resigned sigh, I stepped out of the car, maintaining a careful distance from Christina.
“Sean!” She rushed forward, reaching for my hand. “I thought you’d never speak to me again.”
I stepped back, avoiding her touch. “Say what you need to say.”

“I’m freezing,” she pleaded, teeth chattering dramatically. “Can we talk inside?”
After a moment’s hesitation, I nodded. “Fine. But after tonight, we’re lone.”
“I promise,” she whispered. “After tonight, I’ll disappear from your life.”
After a moment’s hesitation, I finally led her into my home. This would be the last time, I told myself firmly. The very last time I would allow her to cross this threshold.
In the warmth of my living room, Christina cradled a cup of hot water, slowly regaining color in her cheeks.
“Can I have some wine?” she asked, meeting my gaze with practiced innocence.
“No,” I replied flatly.
“Please? This is the last time I’ll ask you for anything. After tonight, I’ll never bother you again.”
The silence stretched between us before I finally relented. “Last time!”
“I’ll keep my promise,” she assured me as I poured two glasses.
I watched her closely, remembering how my youthful gratitude had been misinterpreted as something deeper. I’d said things that gave her false hope, and she’d clung to those words for years. In some ways, she too was a victim of my mistakes.
My resolve softened slightly, though caution remained. “What do you want, Christina? If it’s resources or money, Shaws can provide what you need.” I deliberately emphasized “Shaws” rather than “I.”
Christina caught the distinction, her smile faltering momentarily. “What about shares in Shaw Group? Would you give me those
too?”
