Chapter48
Ziana’s POV
After I shower and change I enter my room to find Killian and Zane sitting on my bed.
“What are you guys doing?” I ask and they smile. What
“You said you were tired. So are we. We’re going to bed.” Killian says and the happiness that explodes in my chest has me baffled.
“You guys aren’t appalled by me?” I ask in confusion. They look at me, wearing the same looks of confusion I know I’m showing.
“No. Why would we be?” Zane asks and it makes me wonder.
“1. My past.” I answer and they nod, getting up and walking over to hold me.
“No. Darling we’re not. If Franklin wasn’t already dead we would torture him for what he did to you.” Killian says.
“We will just have to settle for that b*stard Reginald.” Zane growls and I laugh.
“Reg–eye–na.” I say and they both pull away looking at me curiously.
“That’s what Lettie, Addie and I called him. Reg–eye–na, like vagina.” I say and they laugh.
“Of course you did.” Killian says, leading me to bed.
“Who’s Lettie?” Zane asks me as we crawl into bed.
“Our other friend. He’s still in the royal pack. He’s a vampire and works in the hospital, specializing in physical therapy.” I tell them and they stiffen.
“Your friend’s a he?” Killian asks, jealousy pouring off him and Zane through the bond.
“Yes. Lettie is a he. He’s mine and Addie’s best friend. And he’s gay.” I say and I feel them relax. “Good.” Kilian says, pulling me close to him.
I fall asleep between the two of them, one of the deepest sleeps I think I have ever had.
At least it was, until I woke up in a sweaty mess. I look out of the window and see that the moon has risen and is illuminating the room.
“What’s wrong, love?” Zane asks groggily. Pain spreads through my bones and his touch on my shoulder sends pain shooting up my neck.
“I can’t.” I heave then barely crawl out of bed before a gut wrenching pain slices through my stomach. Kil catches me before I fall to the ground, sending another wave of pain through me.
“Don’t fight me Ziana.” I hear ring through my head and my eyes widen as I look at my mates.
“I’m. Sh. Shifting.” I grit. Their eyes widen and the next thing I know we are transported to a clearing. A different one from Mikey’s shift. This one is smaller and more intimate.
“Sh*t. Love look at us. Focus on us and don’t fight it.” Zanes soothes. I do as he says, trying to focus on him and Killian as the pain ricochets through my entire body. My bones begin to break and black fur sprouts in

patches around me.
The pain is almost unbearable, but their gentle touches help, as well as their words.
“You’re doing great, darling. Just a little more. You’re almost there.” Killian says. After what seems like hours of pain, I am standing, tall and looking them in the eye. Wow I’m large for a wolf.
“You’re beautiful.” Zane says, stroking my fur.
“What’s your name mate?” Killian’s wolf asks. My wolf huffs in response and takes off, sprinting through the woods. Killian and Zane quickly shift, chasing after me. After dodging them, ducking through trees and narrowly missing boulders, we are tackled by Killian’s wolf. Zane’s wolf comes from behind us and nips our
flank.
“Arora.” My wolf speaks through our shared mindlink.
“Blade.” Zane’s wolf says.
“Grim.” Killian’s wolf introduces.
“Nice to finally meet you. Mates. Thank you for freeing me.” Arora says and they all begin to play, racing and eventually mating, which is weird as sh*t for a wolf threesome.
We lay by the lake and fell asleep huddled together. By the time we wake up, we are in our human forms, snuggling naked, by the lake.
“Good morning, love.” Zane says, huskily. I stretch my sore limbs and now that I am awake, my stomach is cramping painfully from hunger.
“Mmm. Good morning.” I reply. Killian grumbles and pulls me toward him.
“Are we going to talk about you shifting?” He asks and I scrunch my nose.
“Not until I have a mountain of food in front of me.” I answer, pushing on his chest to stand, but he just holds me tighter and moves his other hand. My surroundings dissipate and I am laying on the floor in my bedroom.
“Get dressed, I’ll mindlink the kitchen to make you food. What would you like?” Killian asks. “How about, sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, waffles, ham, french toast, and… I think that’s it.” I say, listing all of the food that sounds amazing right now. Killian’s eyebrows raise and Zane barks out a laugh.
“That’s it. Like all of that isn’t enough to feed a small army.” Zane says, making me stick my tongue out at him. Him and Killian laugh at my childish antics and leave to go get some clothes.
I quickly pull on some leggings and a t–shirt, then practically run to the kitchens to find food. It feels like my stomach is eating itself and I can’t focus on anything else.
Luckily when I reach the kitchen there is already a spread of food waiting for the pack members staying in the house. I grab a large plate and head to one of the smaller, more intimate dining areas. I don’t need anybody else seeing the disgusting show I’m about to put on by shoveling as much food into my mo possible.
Half way through my plate, Killian and Zane enter with plates of their own. Zane holds two plates and when he sits next to me, he places it next to my unfinished plate. Killian sits on my other side, eyeing the plate and me, but doesn’t say anything. We begin to eat silently and after the second plate, I lean back. Closing my eyes and focusing on my body.

I am still hungry, but I push that feeling away, searching for anything else that might have changed. I feel lighter, more energetic, less… dark.
“It’s gone. They broke the binds on me and got rid of the dark magic.” I hear in my head. I almost bolt out of my seat at the unusual voice.
“How?” I ask and Arora huffs.
“In order for Eris to give you the magic, he had to bind the gift of the wolf. He suppressed me and inserted the dark magic where I should have been. I was always there, just took up less space, now that I am unbound, it pushed the dark magic out to make room for the gift of having your wolf.” She explains, but I am still
confused.
“Right, but why now?” I ask and I feel her roll her eyes. Like this isn’t some big revelation.
“You have two mates for a reason. The magic of the mate bond helped unbind me. Once you marked them
and fully accepted them, you accepted the magic of the mate bond and it was able to unleash me fully. One bond might have worked, but two? Two bonds pulled me and pushed away the darkness.” She explains and I
sigh.
“So. Um. If you were there the whole time. Were you like asleep or…” I trail off.
“I was awake, watching everything through your eyes. That’s how you still had the supernatural benefits. She says and I swallow.
“So you saw everything?” I ask.
