It wasn't until the herbs were delivered that Delilah seemed to snap out of some kind of trance. Her gaze flickered with a mix of emotions.
"You can head inside and start cultivating the pills. Just one successful batch will do."
"Understood," Felix affirmed.
As the door closed behind him, Delilah's expression shifted repeatedly. It was full of excitement, then tinged with doubt, and then glowed with joy.
"Three months? That can't be right—"
Though she had personally asked to take Felix as her apprentice, if the situation had been reversed, she'd definitely assume he was exaggerating. After all, there's no way to verify claims like that.
It wasn't just about how long someone practiced refining. It was about the talent and results they could demonstrate.
As the sun rose higher, Delilah sat in deep thought. Suddenly, she heard movement and quickly looked up, seeing Felix step out of the room.
"You succeeded on your first try?"
Felix smiled. "Yes."
Was it luck, or was he truly this skilled? For someone so new to cultivating pills, succeeding on the first attempt was impressive enough, especially within just two or three hours. Since it was his first batch, it would be a good way to benchmark his abilities.
"Let me take a look. How many pills did you manage to produce? Don't be discouraged if it's not many. After all, you've only just started refining. Everything takes time."
However, when Felix opened the box, Delilah faltered. Inside were nine perfectly crafted pills, neatly arranged. The sight of them was almost blinding.
Delilah jumped up like she'd been bitten by a snake, snatching the box from him. She picked up each pill, inspecting them one by one. She discovered that they were all Windseeker Pills, each flawless in quality.
"You—"
Delilah was deeply moved by his words. "Alright. I'll have them send over another set of herbs."
As the materials arrived, Nellie stepped out of the elevator. She seemed surprised to see Felix.
"Delilah, Nattie said the head of her family is on his way and bringing you some gifts. Is there anything I should do to prepare to welcome him?"
At that moment, Delilah's mind was entirely consumed by Felix's abilities. She couldn't be bothered with anything else.
"No time for that! And listen. Nellie, make sure no one comes up to this floor. If anyone does, don't blame me for showing no mercy!"
The door slammed shut with a bang, leaving Nellie frozen in shock.
What on earth just happened? In all these years, she'd never seen Delilah act like this. Could it have something to do with Felix?
