"Is that Lord Lionel? Who's the woman next to him? She's so beautiful and elegant," Melissa exclaimed in awe. Her attention was finally captured after Billy pointed out the figure in the audience.
"She's the legendary Chief Commander who retired from headquarters years ago. Of course, she's qualified to sit as an equal with Lord Lionel."
"Really? She's so young, that's just unbelievable!" Melissa thought to herself.
"Mira, you really kept me in the dark," Lionel said, his tone full of mock resentment as he looked at the woman beside him.
"What, did you expect me to write on my forehead who my fellow apprentice is? Would that make you happy?"
Despite sitting next to Lionel, she remained completely at ease, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"I didn't mean it like that. No wonder Felix is so exceptional. It turns out he's your apprentice, someone who was trained in the same school. It makes sense now. Only someone like Dr. Hoffman could produce a genius who excels in both medicine and martial arts."
After speaking, Lionel stole a quick glance at Mira.
"Ahem! After all these years, you haven't aged a bit. Meanwhile, just look at me," he said with a self-deprecating smile.
Raising an eyebrow, Mira shot him a playful look and said, "What's this? Still up to no good? You're not exactly young and handsome anymore. Maybe it's time to focus on your appearance."
Lionel immediately fell silent. Only a few old friends knew about the embarrassing events from years ago, and he had fought tooth and nail to keep it that way.
Even if others found out, they probably wouldn't believe that he once relentlessly pursued Mira.
"You didn't come here just to watch Felix's match, did you?" he asked.
Trying to quickly change the topic, Mira nodded slightly.
"Yeah, Mr. Hoffman felt something unexpected might happen, so he asked me to come check it out personally. Even though there's a Protector in the shadows, who can really be 100% sure about anything?"
"Look at Arena Two. That one should be interesting."
Nala looked over and was surprised to see one of the participants was Ocean. However, the other one was quite strange. It was scorching hot out, and even though the mountain's interior was cooler, wearing a thick coat like that seemed odd.
"Could this person be sick? Why else would he wear such a thick coat to compete?"
After thinking for a moment, Nala said, "Ocean just recently broke through to the Pulse Realm. He's kept a low profile until now. This time, he's competing to make a name for himself and attract more powerful people to his family, not for the championship.
"He knows that with Aiden around, the championship has nothing to do with him."
With that, Billy grinned widely.
"I see… His name is Ocean… He's done for."
