Darren frowned. “Didn’t you hear what I said? Why are you still making offers?” 

Three years ago, Darren would have jumped at any offer and been terrified that they would change their mind. He would have sold it for even a few hundred thousand dollars, let 

alone millions of dollars. 

But back then, no one was interested. He hadn’t known the value of the Nightshade Discipline or even that martial artists existed. Now that he knew, he wouldn’t sell even if people were making offers. He often marveled at life’s ironies. 

“When I say a building, I mean any building in Gray City. Name it.” 

Any building? Darren almost laughed. Who was this guy trying to impress? 

“What if I said Summit Tower?” 

Summit Tower was a prime office building in downtown Gray City. Construction alone had cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and its value had skyrocketed since. Buying it outright would cost over a billion dollars, and that was assuming the owner would even sell. 

The rental income alone provided endless security. So, who would possibly sell the building unless absolutely desperate? 

“Sure. Summit Tower it is. I’ll have the contract ready tomorrow if you agree to this. Sign it, and the building’s yours.‘

Darren was stunned. Felix’s expression and tone seemed dead serious, but wasn’t he too young? Could he really have that kind of money? And all for one martial art manual? 

The previous buyer had offered a hundred million dollars. And when Darren tried to scare them off by asking for a billion dollars, they’d left without hesitation. Why was this guy so persistent? 

“It’s not for sale! Leave before I call security.” 

Felix had no choice but to leave. Money clearly was not going to be enough of a temptation. Just as he left the massage parlor, he ran into Nelly carrying shopping bags. 

“Felix?” 

“Hey, Nelly! Are you out shopping?” 

Nelly nodded, glancing at the massage parlor. Do you get massages here, too?” 

Interesting. Felix caught something in her tone. “Why? Are you a regular?”

Nelly smiled and waved her hand. “Not really. The owner used to pursue Isabella, so I tagged along with her a few times. The place is nice, and the therapists are skilled, but I don’t really need massages.” 

Darren had pursued Isabella Wells? Felix perked up. 

“Is he still after her?” 

Noticing Felix’s interest, Nelly answered honestly, “Yeah, he’s still trying, but Isabella’s stopped responding. She hasn’t replied to his WhatsApp messages for about a month. If he weren’t such a decent guy, she’d have blocked him already. 

“Why do you ask, Felix?” 

“Tell Isabella I’m treating you both to dinner tonight. I need her help with something.” Having a connection made things much easier, especially this kind of romantic pursuit. Sometimes, it really was all about who you knew. 

That evening at a restaurant in Gray City, Isabella kept touching up her makeup. “Nelly! How’s my lipstick? God, if Felix is treating us to dinner, I have to look perfect. You don’t think… he’s interested in me, do you?” 

Nelly sighed helplessly and pinched Isabella’s waist. 

“Don’t get carried away! We don’t know what this is about–we’ll find out when Felix gets here. Just stay composed. I can tell Felix doesn’t go for that kind of thing. Being friends with someone like him is already more than we could hope for. Don’t make it awkward.”
