Of course, Reginald understood what George meant. He had just been too shocked. Who could have imagined Felix’s godsister would have such authority over Pearly? 

“Mr. Zeller, allow me to toast your godsister.” He did not dare address Karina directly, so he spoke to Felix instead, who was closer to him. 

“Sorry, Uncle Reginald. Karina doesn’t drink.” Her coming here was already pushing limits. There was no way she would get up and drink. 

“Of course, of course. I’ll drink to show my respect then. Please enjoy yourselves.”

He could barely contain his laughter, thinking about how Dominic and Victoria would have to avoid them from now on. 

Ryan sidled up to Felix. “Mr. Zeller, um… is your godsister single? Would I have a chance?” 

As Felix patted Ryan’s shoulder, his initial hope turned to twitching lips when Felix said, ” Sure! Love is free. You’ve got a chance if you can survive one strike from her. But fair warning–three of the last five suitors are paralyzed, and two became vegetative.” 

Ryan scrambled back to his seat and waved frantically. “I was just kidding! Haha! I was totally joking!”

“Since he insists, you should stay for drinks. I will chat with Felix a bit before heading home.” Madeline blinked at Luke, who smiled bitterly. He knew his low alcohol tolerance would be his doom today.

Felix did not really care about the dividends, but he could not refuse Madeline’s goodwill.
