The entire Rothwell family was swept into a wave of joy as soon as the blood test results confirmed everything Felix had said. Whether Caleb’s two daughters and sons–in–law shared the same enthusiasm was irrelevant to Felix–it wasn’t his concern. 

That evening, Caleb, still deeply moved, asked, “Mr. Zeller, are you sure you don’t want any money?”

Caleb let out a bitter laugh.

Garrett chuckled.

“I am. Where’s the Miracle Card?” 

Felix examined the card she handed over, confirming its authenticity. 

“Take me to the patient,” he said. 

He didn’t bother asking why the location was so remote. His doubts were already growing stronger by the minute. 

“I’m sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. Zeller. For making you come out here, not even arranging for the transportation from the city, and having you cover the helicopter costs yourself,” the woman said. 

Felix smiled faintly. 

“It’s fine. Saving lives is the priority. As long as the Miracle Card is real, that’s all that matters.” 

As they made their way deeper into the island, Felix couldn’t sense any immediate danger. If this truly were an elaborate trap by the Elders Council, they would have made their move by now. Or perhaps, he was overthinking things?
